View Full Version : Lord have mercy on Venus

The last time Venus played Kim Clijsters, she was able to win 0 games. Venus was being bitch-slapped (definition modified for the moment and can now include non-slam matches) to the extent that her body couldn't keep up and broke down. Please let Kim be more merciful this time.

I predict a closer match this time with Kim defeating Venus 6-2, 6-4.

Did I call Venus names? No I didn't. I'm just hyping the match without any disrespect to Venus.

Ugh...from a fun loving and joking thread (which I enjoyed) to a hatefest involving players not involved in the initial thread. Hmmm...such hate and hostility some people harbour - they don't even know when to take a fucking joke. (Or is it a joking fuck?) :)

Selesrules often says he/she has not ever said anything even remotely controversial with regards to either Sister. Hmmm, well anyway glad you are back from your hiatus after predicting Mauresmo's victory over Serena in Paris. :p Well, after tomorrow's match, I guess these boards will get another respite from your awful predictions and obsession with the Sisters.

Seles, it's great to see that there are people like you who know a joke when they see one. Like I said I'm hyping the match. Everyone knows that Venus was injured last time and everyone knows that she's the favorite, so I'm spicing things up with a little fun.

I don't remember predicting Mauresmo to win over Serena. I remember only posting a FAIR poll asking what are Mauresmo's chances.

Keep it up selesrules, I enjoy your humour,....and am apparently in the minority since I seem to be the only one who gets the joke.

You should get your facts straight first. Kim did not break Venus down, Venus was down and out as soon as she walked on the court. Not due to Kim beating up on her, but due to an injury Venus sustained the night before. Can't call it a bitch-slap if the other player was not 100% physically, or shall I say, not even 25% fit enough to go and play this match.

I think we all knew Venus should have never gone out there in the first place. It was obvious when she walked out on court with a limp that Venus was going to lose.

Predicition: Venus 6-3 6-2

Playa go play with your lego a bit, it will do the world a lot of good :)

Does anyone here actually like lego? I got a whole set for my 8th birthday once and it was brilliant. I always used to specialise in building beautifully crafted houses with little replica windows, only to then realise right at the last moment that I'd used too many blocks and there was a gap left in one of the walls. And then after a few seconds, I'd realise what a shallow, ephemeral and pointless enterprise the whole thing was and pull it to shreds once again, ready to create anew a dazzling edifice of plastic multi-coloured genius the like of which the world had never seen.

Anyone have a similar experience?

Ah, my little pony. Little do we realise in our juvenile innocence and excitement that by purchasing such products we are merely feeding the capitalist profit machine of American commerce that shoves these saccharine figures and fantasies into our susceptible young minds, wishing merely to dish out generous salaries to already over-paid and mentally enfeebled executives.

I quite liked barbie, actually

american commerce gets such a bad name these days. You got a better system? huh? lol.

You ought to cut down the magnification on your telescope from Mars and maybe then you'll get some proper perspective. Still credit where it's due, you didn't start a retirement thread when she crashed out (and I'm glad to see you recognise her as a goddess :)).

As for the result of the match tomorrow, when was the last time Venus lost in a final to someone other than Serena ?

I despised Barbie dolls. I really can't put a finger on why but something about them irked me. I recall my best friends 8th birthday party, all the girls decided to play with Barbies and I was so upset that I cried and sulked. Although, I was very fond of My Little Ponies.

I often found myself playing with my brothers toys because his were so much better. My sister was much older than me, so she didn't have anything that I would want to play with.

Stereotypical "male" toys are far better than toys that are intended for females. You learn far more from building figures than you do from dressing up barbies. Or perhaps I should say that you what you learn is more valubal.

Yeah, well I already knew the score, it was just a matter if the Lord would read my thread and listen to my suggestion. My prediction was 6-2, 6-4 for Kim IF God doesn't listen to my thread, but he listened to me and had mercy on Venus and so that's why the winner is different. ;) So in other words, Venus fans need to thank me because if I hadn't started this thread then the Lord wouldn't have had mercy on Venus.
