well she's done well w/o beating top 10ers consistently. what do u think she needs to do to take her game to the next level

Eat more. Believe in herself more consistently. Don't look up at Nigel when you're in a jam. Believe that you'll pull out of it and win the match.

She needs to improve her serve!! She has a nice serve but it is inconsistent.

She also starts a match slowly. That needs to change.

She needs to concentrate on playing faster as well... and to stay very agressive.

Am I the only one thinking that Nigel and Daniela may be romantically involved?

I think he needs to push her a lot more.

NOT that way!! :)

i doubt it not with her mother keeping her beady eye on her all the time!

If I may "borrow" a suggestion made for another player recently (by others here as well, BTW): lay off the modeling, etc., and focus on your game for now!

What makes you think that her mother is keeping a "beady" eye on her? Daniela's mother appears to be a sophisticated European woman, and not some prudish American dame.

it was meant as a joke of course i have no idea what her mother's really like

Well, I'm pushing the Coach/player link up. I think it's time there was some real dirt on Daniela. :)

nah still think mother wouldn't allow it:) or stop the modelling though i wasn't aware she did that much

look forward to ur view but i think u'll find that i'm right. its the mother with the beady eye:)!!

Nah.... I've seen her plenty. No beady eyes there.

But Daniela really seems to enjoy her mother a lot.

I've got the feeling since around the end of last year that things are heating up between Nigel and Daniela.

yeah i agree very much with you vs1, hantuchova needs to start eating more, get a more consistent serve, as well as become more agressive as well as get to a good start and quickly.in order to get to the next level, i mean beating henin especially on hardcourts on an off day isnt any big deal henins worst surface by far is hardcourts, beating tauziat as well is no big deal, coetzer unfortunately a fighter and very fit player doesnt posses tools to trouble any of the top tenners, she moves extremely fast and can get to many balls but thats about it; only when top ten are off should coetzer give them a scare aka venus aussi 2001.and dokic we all know is the queen of inconsistency, proven yet again by her slow start this season.beating hingis on her way to retirement is no big deal as well, plus hingis had already had a surgery and no longer a factor for a while; so i mean aside from winning indian wells and beating hingis while going through this process plus taking davenport and venus as well as mauresmo to three sets its all that hantuchova has really done.i mean yes its a great deal but when you are being hyped ever since you stepped onto the courts like theyve proclaiming hantu to be the next big thing she really hasnt lived up to any of these expectations.before im convinced of this ill wait till she wins her next title and then acknowledge her greatness, for now its all about how can she fulfill her great potential.will she take adavantage of it? we will see in the next few tournaments she enters, and lets see how she lives up to the pressure of having to defend such a big title like indian wells, having davenport and clijsters and possibly capriati and even monica seles alongside.

i agree LUIS9 but at least she has achieved something unlike Anna who is definitely all hype & not action

Daniela has a lot of trouble with her nerves.

We will just have to see if she can overcome that. How long was it that Venus was playing before she won a tournament? People said that she couldn't overcome her deficits, but she did. At this level it is what is on the inside that counts, and those of us at a distance can't really judge. The results will tell.

She needs to be more aggresive as well.. she doesn't attack when the opportunity is right. Shs doesn't bend her body to get into a point.. she wayyy to stiff!

the stiffness is definitely a job for her coach to sort out:)!!

She's also beaten Mauresmo (Fed Cup last year)

Plus, she didnt just beat Henin-Hardenne and Dokic once. She beat Justine in Indian Wells & US Open, and Dokic in Berlin 02, Wimbledon 02, and Leipzig 01.

As a matter of fact, we will see what's Daniela really worth when defending her title in IW.
According to her few last weeks "mental-shape", I'm not kind of optimistic for that one, except she and Nigel really take profit of the two weeks reamining to find another motivation.

Dani and Nigel  ??
Well I don't think so but who knows, lol...
Anyway who would blame him ?? Dani is sooo hot
