MIAMI (AP) - Prosecutors dropped charges Wednesday against a photographer and his wife who clashed with the bodyguard of Anna Kournikova while she dined with singer Enrique Iglesias last summer.

Assistant State Attorney Betty Capote said the state was dropping misdemeanor aggravated battery charges against photographer Angel Mora and wife Celia Oliveira at the request of the bodyguard, Jerome Hall.

Hall was with the tennis star and singer at a North Miami Beach restaurant on Aug. 19. Mora allegedly approached Iglesias - the son of famed singer Julio Iglesias - about taking a photo of the couple while they dined. A scuffle ensued after Hall asked Mora and Oliveira, who had a camera and a digital video camera, to stop filming the couple.

Police reports said Oliveira bit the bodyguard in the right forearm and Mora struck Hall in the back of the head with his video camera. Kournikova and Iglesias were witnesses.

Defense lawyer Ellis Rubin has maintained that his clients are innocent and did nothing wrong.
