The match was very close. that was a very hard fough match by both players. Monica's mental edge made the difference at the end. Chanda had her chance to win when she got a break to a 4-3 lead in the 2nd set. then her serve let her down a bit combined with Monica starting reading her serve, eps her deuce court slice wide serve, which had been giving Monica so much trouble till then. Chanda was serving to go up 5-3 then got broken. Monica was visibly pumping up herself grunting lounder n harder. Monica reeled off three straight games to take the 2nd set. the third was rather one-sided than the first two. Monica broke Chanda in the fourth game n again in the 6th. from then on, she never looked back and went on to win the match. Monica wasnt still 100%. esp in the first two sets, she made tons of unforced errors esp she was slow on her backhand side. Chanda really exploited that n hit many balls on that side. I think Chanda hit more winner overrall. Perhaps she could ve rushed the net a bit more as she hardly lost a point at the net. but then again Monica's groundies got deeper n deeper as the match progressed. I was surprised how Monica toughed it out when she was behind.
