Ya'll were wondering about petitioning to change the rules so Serena can have a Slam. And let tennis fans decide. Be careful what you ask for. We might all get together and petition that their be no second serves. Wouldn't that be great, then V and S couldnt use their first serves as weapons...You know what come to think of it. Let's all petition to change the rules to benefit our favorites. :wavey: :wavey:

Here's to our favs:)
We will change rules just for you!!
If you don't achieve, we'll decieve!!!:wavey: :wavey:

There is a large difference in petitioning to change what the ITF considers an official "Grand Slam", and changing the rules of the actual games.

Attack of the wavey smiley or what?

probably hurt jen more than anyone else even with 2 serves both of them are a liability for her most of her opponents would'nt have to hit a ball in order to break her.

hey Shane, whasssup? i've been gone but I'm back now and still a Jenn fan... check out my new locker room confrontation thread in GM :)

I love the idea of banning the second serve, and also the let serve! (if it goes over & hits in bounds, it's good.) It would speed up play and take away a major weapon of the sisters. It would also help the men's game become more well rounded, IMHO.

PS: I believed this before the sisters were so domiment , BTW. Lindsay Davenport talked about it 3-4 years ago.

Well hey C2! It seems that Jenn is off the hook. Now Venus fans are hammering Serena. Who would ever thought a split in the Williams camp. I bet now deep in their hearts they will be rooting against Serena in the semis of a slam, so Venus will have a better chance LOL  Take care C2

The only changes that need to be made for tennis should be to have a longer off season and play the Australian Open at a later date. Then the quality of play down under would be so much improved! And more importantly the top players would be better prepared to play. And that's a big problem in men's tennis. January is just too soon to play a grand slam.
