Venus Still Rules

Everyone knows that Venus needs to work on her second serve - to include her and her coaches. She doesn't need a new serving coach IMO. She knows what she is doing wrong when serving but can't always execute what she knows. I can show you some tapes from 2000 & 2001 where she was doing much better on her second serve - and in the summer of 2001 - both of her serves was on. She was dangerous. She was ruthless. She was on her game and her serve. If she can get it together like she had it back then - then - can she do it again? Surely she can. I have faith in her.

I would rather congratulate her on reaching the final and gaining some ranking points. I am proud of my girl and the job she's done. And losing to her Sister brings no shame to her game. She still beat everyone else in her path.

My condolences go out to the Sisters and their family - and especially their mother on the loss of her mother. Hopefully God eased her journey into his house.

This seems strangely like the situation with martina hingis: bad serve = losses.

martina did nothing to improve her serve.

Venus is my #1 but I'm not gonna stick my head in the sand anymore. She rules no more. She needs some serious service lessons from, say, Justine.

BTW, allow me some coulda, woulda here: Vee could have won the 1st set and she did ... :o :o Spare me, guys.
