with kim losing a 5-1 lead to put away serena it will obviously hurt her alot. This match may be crucial in future matches between them as kim will not come in with the same confidence as she did yesterday and will always remember this match when she is ahead against serena in future matches. this is similar to when henin plays clijsters as the match in the french open has really hurt her when she gave away a big lead to lose and has beaten clijsters very few times since.

Oh, she'll definitely be back! :) She'll learn from it and come back stronger. She should've won the match but let it slip. She's got determination and positive attitude. I think she's learned a bit from Lleyton.

It might help her. Kim might remember what happened last time and that Serena's gonna fight till the last point. She will try her best not to let Serena back into a match she has such a big lead on. Kim is a great person with a fighting spirit, I don't think it will effect her too much.

Kim was very good last night. She's the real deal, and the road will be tough.

And don't forget about Venus. Serena isn't the only Williams Kim has to worry about.

o.k., so the loss was tough. BUT: she now knows for sure that serena, the no. 1 player in the world, is totally within her reach. this must give her a lot of confidence, not the other way round.

Serena once let a 5-2 lead against Hingis slip, and then beat her many times after that. She also let a 5-3 lead slip against Capriati, and shes won the last 5 meetings. No reason why Kim will be affected, it will just make her more determined to finish it off next time.

I think the difference here is that Hingis nor Capriati really dominated Serena, like Serena has dominated Clijsters in their head-to-head. Whats Serena's record now against Kim 6-1 or 7-1? Neither Jenn C or Hingis ever owned Serena like that. And while there is no denying Kim's talent, you have to believe losing a match like that has to affect ones confidence.:worship:

I think she will come back, she is young
like Experimentee said Serena came back from devastating lost so why not Kim

when Capriati won that match at wimbledon, she led the series at 5-1, so you can say she was dominating but ever since she has not won a single match against Serena.

The next matches between the two will be important, if Serena can win thoses she wil definitely establish a big mental edge
