Whatever the results of the upcoming final matches involving Venus & Serena let's all take a moment to seriously reflect on the sheer enormity of Venus's and Serena's profound achievements. To appear in a record four straight GS major championships on four different surfaces is by any measure an incredible achievement--one of the most astonishing in all of sports history, let alone tennis history. Can you imagine what the mathematical odds/probabilities are of such a feat? It must be in the millions-to-one. To top it off not one but two SISTERS who also happen to be African American are pulling this off. The odds must be in the cosmic mathematical stratosphere of probability!! In over 25 years of intensely following professional tennis I have never seen anything like it and I'm certain no one on this board has either, LOL. A narrative scenario like this could not possibly have been written or proposed as a either a film or a novel. The premise is too outlandish and absurdly farfetched. In thinking about it it actually sounds like science fiction. But it's happening before our eyes and the players are only 21 and 22 years of age! Amazing. No wonder the Pams and Mary Joes of the world, female and male alike, are so envious and flabbergasted by it all. I can't BELIEVE what the sisters are doing and I consider myself one of their biggest fans! Venus and Serena embody what true champions really are both on and off the court and I am deliriously happy for both of them.
