adidas International 2002

Welcome everyone to the adidas International 2002! We are now in Sydney for the last tune-up tournament before the Australian Open, down under. The raging bushfires shall not affect our quality play here.

Here, the red hot Jame Blake shall attempt to capture his third consecutive title in just as many weeks. Andre Agassi and Jan Michael Gambill shall attempt to do the same, only this time, it is in doubles. It is also interesting to note that James Blake has also twiced reached the doubles finals, together with his partner Marcelo Rios, only to lose to Andre and Jan-Michael.

Other up and coming players shall also attempt to break Jame's stranglehold on tournament titles. 5th seeded Tood Woodbridge narrowly lost his quarter final match against James, in 2 extremelt tight tiebreak sets. Will he be able to go the full distance this time?

Nicolas Lapentti shall attempt to bounce back from a close lost to Marat Safin in the last tournament to improve on his questionable form.

Richard Krajicek, a consistent performer who makes it to semis every times, shall attempt to do better this time. We shall see if he manages to break his semi-finals curse.

Surprise semi-finalist, the number one Spaniard Alex Corretja, who is well known for his clay courting skills is showing that he is a force to be reckoned with on rebound ace as well. He will be our darkhorse in this tournament in Sydney.

This tournament in Sydney is extremely important, as it is the last stop before the Australian Open. Whoever wins it will surely have bragging rights at the Australian Open.

Marcelo de los Rios
Jan 9th, 2002, 06:07 PM
Sure you can, you just use the points they had last week. Its already Wednesday, we should be in the quarterfinlas now. People are holding up the game for whatever reason so my vote is still to use last weeks points if they are too busy to send in new ones. I'm not trying to be rude, but when you forgot to put me in the draw I bugged the hell out of you, I told you twice, sent you a couple of PM's and my points and you fixed it all. I did that because I cared, and didn't want to be responsible for holding up the game.! :)

Jan 9th, 2002, 08:24 PM
don't wanna sound nitpicky (but prob will) but monica rules already said use last weeks points...

and if u set a deadline of tuesday 8pm, you kinda have an obligation to the majority of the posters who have sent points in to do the results from then, as everyone else got their ass in gear & obeyed the rules. no point in setting a deadline if ur not gonna stick to it, cos then ur just as bad as the people who don't send the points in & break the deadline.

otherwise some people will just walk all over u and wreck the game for everyone, which could kill it off.

Jan 10th, 2002, 12:37 AM
Well said Sonic, I agree with everything that you said. I have this to add though, Safin already said use the same points as last week in this thread. Considering he is your doubles partner on eta tour, you should already know that. I know this is new to you, but since you are in charge you have to read every post in your wmta threads and stick by the rules you made.

What the Hell is going on?

World #1 James Blake has officially withdrawn from Adidas, he will play doubles with Rios and thats it. Mr Blake will return to the tour at the Australian Open. Mr Blake is utterly disgusted at how things are being run at Adidas.

Williams_Rulez, you did an excellent job by your self at the Christmas tournament, you peed for that. Now you really do not understand how frustrating things are with the players so I am going to tell you. Caio Braz and Tennisace stopped updated things at the same time, whether we go here or to the womens tour we can't get updates. Now the other game forums stay up to date, but not ETA and WMTA.

I am sick of this, both tours at the same time mucking up is too much for a girl. You set a deadline so have a backbone and stick to it, if people won't send in points, screw'm. Its like you are saying your deadline rule means nothing if a group of ten people break it, thats not going to fly with me Hun. You know I love you Williams_Rulez, but if I was wrong I'd want you to tell me.

Jan 10th, 2002, 09:48 AM
i think Williams_Rulez is doing a good job.

Its ok to play a tournament when only a few players do not send points but nearly half of the people hadnt.

I think he is doing a goodjob for what hes done and hes doing it out of his spare time so just lay off!!

I am sorry for the delay. Well, it was mainly cause some people didn't send in points, so I was reluctant to start the tourny. In fact I had the results done already, so I could have released them. Well, since you guys prefer to have results released on time, the next tournament, if your points are not in by the dead line, I shall just use your points from the last week. I would prefer it if you could just take the time to send an e-mail or PM me to tell me that you want to use points from last week if you have that intention though.

Doubles results shall be out tomorrow. QF results will be out soon enough.

What the heck are you talking about Willams_Rulez, do you even read these threads. I have tried to deal with you in a nice proffesional way, but I have to say you are messing up bigtime.

I told you that you forgot to put me in the draw, then you put me in Malisse's spot. This means I was supposed to play Safin, look at the draw at the top of the page that you made. Now you just kicked Rios out of the tournament again, replacing him with Schuettler.

James Blake told you he withdrew because of screw ups, and you put him in the tournament. Why do you keep messing up with me? did I say something out of place to you?

You need to redo the bottom half where Rios plays Safin like it is supposed to be, which means things are screwed up for Schuettler too. And Blake couldn't have beat Kuerten if he withdrew from this tournament, you have a lot of correcting to do.

Lastly, do you still think things are so kosher Yoshie? maybe they are for you.

Williams Rulez
Jan 10th, 2002, 02:25 PM
Well look, Caio was doing the other tournament and if you did post there, I would not have known that I was supposed to look there.

James Blake has already sent in points, so if he can't withdraw. You on the other hand shall be placed at Carlos Moya's spot, cause I did not have you on my computer.

Well I did screw up and I apologise. I am human after all, and I do make mistakes. So I am really sorry.

Jan 10th, 2002, 03:00 PM
IluvJelena, you must live in a fairytale world because Williams_Rulez is fvcking up royally this week!

Look Williams _Rulez, I don't want to sound caddy, but first things first. You do not tell me if I can withdraw or not, if I decide to do so hours before you release results, which I did, then I just withdrew. I sent in points......true, but after I visited the board and saw that you were changing the rules AGAIN, I said fvck it!. Now as I said, since I withdrew on the board hours before you posted your scores, that means I did not lose, I withdrew, Kuerten did not lose, plain and simple.

Now let me tell you what I suggest you do, go back in and put Gustavo Kuerten advances with a WO because James Blake withdrew, then fix all of your other things. This is not fair to Kuerten since I posted I withdrew way before you posted these scores. You want to show a sympathetic ear to people who don't send in points by the deadline, but not to the people who sent in points and told what they were going to do. .

Then you tell my doubles partner Rios that you are putting him in Moya's spot. You are in to the semis now and Rios's name is still not mentioned, after you told him you'd fix it. Rios sent in points on time but because of your screw ups he is being punished and is not in the tournament now at all. if I were you Hun, I would place Rios, Rainer and Kuerten where they needed to be from the beginning of the tournament, and play it out from scratch. I don't envy your position.

Your tour is going to crash and burn if you don't whip things into shape pronto!

Williams Rulez
Jan 10th, 2002, 03:05 PM
But I did put Rios in place already!! Take a big look!! He is playing Marat Safin... the spot which he wanted. And if you wish to withdraw... fine with me, you've withdrawn!!

Best of luck to you at the Aussie Open.

Jan 10th, 2002, 03:11 PM
Dang you guys! Give Williams_Rulez a fricken break. All other tournaments run smoothly and then he decides to do what he thinks best and delay scores...so there wouldn't be so many walk-overs (Take a look at the qualifying draw), and now you all start mouthing off. Speaking from running a game myself, it is not easy to do this and you all should just be thankful that he is running this at all. It's actually very hard to do: especially having to tell people over and over to send in their points, and wondering if people don't send in their points how the tournament will continue correctly. It's not like he is getting paid to run this game. When you guys decide you want to run a game yourself and you see how difficult it really is, then you can talk, but until then just chill ;).

Senorita Conchita
Jan 10th, 2002, 03:12 PM
Okay, but then you need to do a second round match between Grosjean and Kuerten coz Grosjean could not have beat Blake in a second round match. Then if Kuerten beats Grosjean, you have more mess because Grosjean is a semifinalist now.

Back to the drawing board sweetie! :)

hey people, what's the matter with you? why so many players retire? i don't see reasons for quitng this tour.

it's on the start, and if there are some problems, mistakes etc. i'm sure people who run this game will work on it and it will be fun.

there are many games on this board, there are few games based on women tennis, but no on men, so i think you should keep running this game .....

and if some player retires then what? let them retire, other guys will come and they will play this game

all this game needs is little bit better organization, and that's all.

btw. i'm not going to retire :)

Well when I logged on Taylor had lost in the qualifying. I lose first round all the time here and at ETA. I quit ETA too because I am sick of losing all the time. I decided to give ETA another try because womens tennis is my first love, if I can get my new player together there, Taylor will comeback here. :)

Nicolas lapentti wish to reitire also.

Sorry, but to honest, I smell something fishy regarding James Blake success!!!!! I would join the tour again if after the tournament, organizers would post all the points sent by all the players after each tournament. Specially decision regarding tie breaks. Who is actually deciding it and I want a more reliable criteria rather than flippind coins.

Sorry, nothing personal but I want a more transparrent competition like something based on the real tournament with real results.

Senorita Conchita
Jan 12th, 2002, 10:14 AM
PRINCESSLINDSAY, and I call you that because you never have, and never will be grand enough to be called a QUEEN. What you smell is the rotten attitude you display every time somebody other than you wins something, where I come from its called playa hating. I will not have you ruining the good name of Williams_Rulez and Caio Braz. Now they are guilty of updating things late, but they don't cheat.

I will now take the time to tell your tired self what the real deal was. My James Blake won those tournaments fair and square, because he had the guts to go for it. You people were under the ETA mindset, which was wrong because we have more points here to use. You had points similar to mine at Christmas tournament, my points were 55-55-5

I beat you in the final, remember thing. Now in the next tournament you lost in the first round because you cowardly were afraid to bid big again because you lost the Christmas final bidding big. You used points to try and grind out matches in three sets. I had the courage to bid even bolder, because my points in Qatar were 58-58-00. The rest of you didn't go for it like I did and you all lost.

Williams_Rulez and Caio Braz are innocent. Being dishonest is more your speed, just like all the pictures of Lapentti you used had that Sarah Vickery copyright stamped on them. Even though posting copyrighted pictures is against the rules, you were dishonest and did it anyway.

You can quit the tour if you like, but don't make accusations that you cannot prove. Have a nice day sore loser, and begone on your late merry way, PRINCESSLINDSAY

Well, Lindsay is a queen and Serena could not even be called a princess at all. 3 GS and 37 titles is not to comparable to any of Serena's achievement( should i say she has an achievement or just riding to her sisters car) Venus maybe the queen also and serena is the maid......

OK then, I can agree with you now.

Now, tell me how in the hell you came up with these scores???

First off, Its not my job to come up with scores, all I do is send in my points so you will have to ask them about that, but from what I can see it looks like the scores were posted out of place. Since I have seen blown out light bulbs brighter than you, I'll try to explain step by step. Don't be scared, I promise not to use any big words so try to keep up.

Lapentti won the first set 7-6, you had 5 points more than I did so you won the tie breaker (7-2)

The second set we had 55 points apiece, this means a coin flip, which Blake won (11-9)

The third set was my 5 points to your 0, this is still within a 10 point range so another tie breaker is involved, which Blake won (7-2). So the actual score should have been,

Blake def Lapentti 6-7(2), 7-6(9), 7-6(2)

I hope that was not too complicated for you, but you still come out a loser.

BTW, You asked what peoples points were and I told you mine, I was in no way defending myself. The reason I withdrew was already posted, if you can't find it.... tough! Now as for you insulting Serena, go right ahead because I don't know her personally, and I refuse to lower myself to your standards and attack a fine lady like Lindsay Davenport.

Grow up Hun, while theres still time.

OH really, watch your BIG mouth!!!!
You just called that Lindsay would never be a queen!!!!
Washing hands I would say.

It seems you really know well how the computations are. Are'nt you one of the organizers??????

Who then decides about the second set???
Thats why I told you, flipping coins is not reliable to me unlike real tournament results. And how would I know when did u send your points??? Is it after seeing all our points??? Who is actually deciding the draw???? also draw is made after we sent points. that means is manipulable. I would not contest this anymore, I actually dont have the right to question this because I'm just a player and If dont like it then quit it which I'm doing now and here you are hurting!!!!! Poor Serenathemaidwilliams, you yourself is not convinced the way you won!!!!

Are you really that stupid Queen Lindsey? any fool could see SerenaTheBody was talking about you and not the real Lindsey Davenport. The draws come out before we send the points in, not after. Organizers don't compete in the game either stupid. Why don't you go beg someone for a dollar, maybe then you can buy a clue! :(

Marat Safin is looking for a new regular doubles partner. Nicholas has become too unhelpful and tries to be a showboat on the court. I can not deal with this type of on court irregularities and off court bitchiness.

Anyone looking to become my doubles partner then please post.

Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean won his first WMTA title at Sydney Adidas International. "I'm really happy with the way i played this week, i enjoy playing in Australia. Final match was very tough, i'm happy i won it," said Grosjean.

Who do u think is the bitch here?????
I never attacked anyone here unless they are the ones first.

First af all, why dont you just respect that I dont trust this game anymore coz I dont see any reliablity. Accept it or not you cannot forced me to trust anyone just on the computer. Who knows? all this person who are hurting now are all but one person in different names.

I JUST QUIT this game OK????

I cant blame anyone hurting here. At least your brother James Blake could win tournaments even just in fantasy.

Jan 13th, 2002, 06:23 AM
now, queen lindsay, you are just being silly

Jan 14th, 2002, 06:30 AM
QueenLindsay: You've already informed you were quitting so be it! I don't believe anybody here is begging for you to stay either. And who's forcing you to trust anyone hmmm???
NOBODY. They were just explaining how they run the points around here and if you have any doubts, that's your problem.

As a Serena fan, I don't find it amusing for you to be calling her a MAID? That was so uncool of you to diss her. But then again, that's your opinion and feel free to express it.
