will she be seeded #1?

I dont mean like winning or anything but just holding Seed

No, the seeds will be done before the rankings taking into consideration of Oz. Meaning....she'll be 'ranked' #7,...by my calculations she should be #2 seed. Don't quote me on this... but I think that's how it works.

The only way she'll be #1 seed is if Capriati withdraws

Which I'm wondering now if Jen is staying in Australia or Japan for 2 weeks or did she go home?

If she withdraws isn't this tournament guaranteed a top 5 player and will have to replace her?

I think Seles is right.

The tournament should be guarenteed a top 3 player as a Tier 1 - but I think Jen will withdraw now - The Williams sisters probably wont enter as a replacement and neither will Kim after her long trip to Oz - so that would leave the top 8 seeds as;

1. Seles
2. Dokic
3. Davenport
4. Rubin
5. Maleeva
6. Farina-Elia?
7. Dementieva
8. Pistolesi

If they're GUARANTEED a top 3 player, and Jenn withdraws, you'd think whichever Williams sister DOESN'T win OZ will be chasing points. Venus only PLAYED two Tier I's last year, Miami and Moscow. I'm sure six of the other seven Tier I's would like to see on of the three biggest drawing cards on the tour.

I hope Jen plays cause it will mean Dokic and Davenport garenteed seperate sides.
