I always wanted Jennifer to play at Perth. :hearts:
Is it true that they always ask the No. 1 of a country at first and then the way down the rankings if the No. 1 refuses to play? I think, if it is like that, we`ll have a good chance to see Jennifer participating at the Hopman Cup next year if she wants to play because both Williams always want to try everything and after one participation at a team event they never come back. :o
Who should be Jennifer`s partner? Andy Roddick? James Blake?
Robby Ginepri? Jan-Michael Gambill? Pete Sampras? Justin Gimelstob?
What is your opinion?

Jennifer was actually due to play in 1994 alongside John McEnroe... But she started to burn out in the summer of 1993 and pulled out of all tournaments after the the US Open.... She had her chance to play in Perth then...

What do you mean - "Jennifer had her chance to play in Perth then...."? I think everybody deserves a second chance!!!
It was a hard time for Jennifer in 1993/1994 but it`s behind her.
She is a great tennis player and a wonderful person. So, why shouldn`t she play?

Perhaps because the US has such a talented group of ladies from which to draw from they feel that they don't need to ask her again..........

Oh grow up German Boy - U are reading my words out of context... I;m sure Jrennifer was approached to play again... But this is an Exhibition - the players are contacted directly by Paul MacNamee and he decides who represents each country....

Monica has played Hopman Cup for the last two years and Jennifer was ranked ahead of her then, so they must have approached Jen first and she couldnt make it. Alex Stevenson even played once and Jen was surely ranked ahead of her.

In her years of comeback, Jenn was obliged to play in Hongkong, remember that, she did take part for 1-2 years in that event the same week Perth takes place.
As she did poorly in Sidney the week after in the last 2 years I think she would decide to train that week and leave out this chance.
Regarding next year, I´m sceptical that Jenn -if returning to full strength 2003- will continue at the end of the year anyway - though being a loyal fan. She achieved most of the things players dream of and I doubt she´s as keen as playing as Martina Navratilova is right now (Note me as a Capriati FAN, therefore my doubts are just a thought).
