and Todd Reid for the mens.

Interesting Nicole decided to play here instead of Hobart where she has SF points to defend!

SYDNEY: Tournament Director Craig Watson has informed 18 year old Todd Reid and Nicole Pratt that they will receive wild cards into the main draw
for the adidas International. There are three wild cards in the men's singles and three in the women's singles.

"Todd has had an outstanding year that saw him win junior Wimbledon and reach the final of the Australian Open juniors so we are very pleased to be
in a position to give him one of the wild cards," said Mr. Watson. "Todd has an incredible amount of talent and we trust such an opportunity will
provide him with some valuable experience on the regular tour.

"Nicole is the highest ranking Australian woman on the WTA Tour. She is a gutsy player and has been a tremendous supporter of tennis in this country
having represented Australia for a number of years in Fed Cup. This will be the second time she has played the adidas, the last time was in 2001."

In 2002 Reid was also a quarterfinalist at the Canadian Open juniors and the Belgian Junior Championships. He teamed with Ryan Henry to win the
Australian Open junior doubles and the pair were runners-up at the French Open juniors.

He won his first tournament on the tour last March when he claimed a Futures event in New Zealand. He won a second such event two months later
in the USA and was runner-up at a Futures in Australia recently. Reid names hardcourt as his favourite surface and he has trained at the
famed Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida. He has been ranked as high as four in the world junior rankings.

"Receiving a wild card in my hometown is great and this is a really good way to start the year, and the next phase of my career. I am excited about
playing the adidas," said Reid from Adelaide where he has been practicing.

Pratt meanwhile has also enjoyed a solid season. The Queenslander took her world ranking to a career high of 35 with the help of two semifinal
appearances, at Hobart and Birmingham as well as reaching three quarterfinals (Qatar, Scottsdale and Tokyo). The 29 year old also equalled
her best career effort at the Australian Open where she made it to the third round.

Good for Evie :) Although with this strong field I dont like her chances for winning her round...

Alicia obviously chose Hobart because she thinks she as a good chance to do well there.

Good luck to Evie and Nicole! I hope the last WC is reserved for Seles ;)!

If Evie and Nicole can play a good match and win a set it will be good preparation for the Aussie Open and in a way its better to subject themselves to a higher level of play just b4 the Aus. Open.
