CANBERRA is ONLY $110K (Tier V) , But a lots of great players are competing?

Yes, but the players want a "warm up" tourney for the Aussie Open... so you do get some good players here.

great. aussie tournaments are finally getting more popular.

maybe after all the injuries at last years AO players have finally learnt that they need to get use to the conditions so they're using these as warm-ups for the big one.
