The reason I think Lindsay may get a special seeding is as follows:

1. She got a special seeding at Linz, but she withdrew, so she still has 1 left.

2. She did not get a special seeding at Los Angeles because of a special rule, so she still has 1 left.

3. So this leads to Sydney. If she does indeed have 1 special seeding left then it will be used here.

I'm getting sick and tired of Davenport's special seeding! I mean can't she just play by her ranking?

i'll rather see her using one for AO,
but that's not likely to happen..............
she will be better off seeded #2 than #6 that's for sure,
she might only have to beat 1 TOP 10 to win,
as opposed to #6 where she has to beat 3 TOP 10,
QF: Justin/Daniella, SF,F: vs Clijster and Jen,
though a lot more quality points, but
she will have hell of a time to win this........

I think you'll find she won't get any more special seedings - unless the WTA rules she still needs one, I think her special seeding lapsed before the WTA Championships.

Though with all these players dropping out like flies, she's working her way up the seeds :)

All Players who have been out of the game for a long time, such as Lindsay was, gets a special seeding. I think Lindsay's may be used up but I do wish people would not be so peevish about it. The special seeding is not a new rule.

GO LINDSAY

Not all players get this, only a few get the Special Seeding, most get a Special Rank.

It won't matter much to Lindsay IMO

You're not alone!

She already had enough special seedings, from now one, it's time to play by her ranking!!!

oh shut up...I'd like to see what you would have to say if you were on the tour and were injured for 7 months. PLUS, it's not like Lindsay is saying, "oh, please, can I have a special seeding? I just can't handle it out there on my own.." Get real!

This was said in an article in the Herald Sun,

"Capriati will be top seed in Sydney, ahead of the fourth and fifth-ranked Belgians, Clijsters and newly-wed Justine Henin-Hardenne."

Seeing that it says that Kim will be seeded #2, I suppose Lindsay didn't recieve the injury seeding thing.

Lindsay don't get a special ranking!!! And if she get one, I think that's so stupid.... I mean she is ranked 12 now, and with her game she can come in the top 5 again quickly, therefore she don't needed that special ranking. That's not fair for the other players!!

Lindsay said it herself in November that her special seeding had finished and she considered herself to be a floater - because she wouldn't be seeded at the top anymore.

goofy_yk7681, Amelie M pulled out of the AI and also AO due to her knee injury - she said she wouldn't be ready in time for the Australian season.
