One day, Aga will manage to win again some sets and surely some matches against Vika, that's not in doubt ;) Before Doha 2012 their matches were always tight, then Vika got the edge.
But Aga has worked on her H2H with some players quite well recently, such as Ivanovic (from 0-3 to 5-3), Schiavone (from 0-4 to 3-4), Zvonareva (from 0-2 to 4-2), Wozniacki (from 1-5 to 4-5)... I could add Venus Williams but it's a little bit special and not very significant, given the American's health problem and the amount of matches they played recently (1-6 to 3-6 after two easy wins in straight sets).
Nevertheless, again, H2H are only statistics and are not that important anyway.

I thought she played really well against Azarenka today. Missed a few opportunities but she wasn't drowning as much as she did when playing her post AO in 2012. Vika was surprisingly respectful during their match and didn't try to intimidate Aga like during their previous encounters such as IW last year which was nice.
She defended her SF points, won $100k raising her to 21st best prize earning female tennis player of all time (still 10th active), scored her 32nd win over a Top 10 player (Wozniacki#10) and is 16/2 in her matches this year. So plenty of positives.

I am quite happy that Vika once again wiped the floor with Aga. If only to give Aga incentives to evolve her game. Trailing 0-3 in the second Aga called Tomasz on court and he told her to dictate points and she did not drop her serve after that... But she should try dictate play all the time, not only when losing in the second set. She should try to use early rounds as a preparation for meetings against Vika or Serena, not something she has to gon through and then playing a completely different tennis against them in semis onwards.

Well, screaming banshee didn't seem that unbeatable at all. I think Aga is on the right direction to beating her.
Day 3 OOP: Centre Ct- Radwanska vs Putintseva, Kerber vs Vinci/Kuznetsova, Serena vs Bartoli, Errani vs Cirstea

On the battle for No.1 between Victoria Azarenka and Serena Williams...
"Serena definitely deserves No.1, especially after last season, winning Wimbledon, the Olympics, the US Open and WTA Championships. But to be No.1 isn't just about one or two tournaments, you have to play a lot to have those kind of points. Last year Vika was also playing well the whole year, making big points almost every tournament, so she also deserved No.1. I think whoever is No.1 deserves it."
On getting to No.1 herself...
"I hope I can be No.1. I'm working on it. Being No.4 in the world is close, but it's also far - there are a lot of players playing great tennis right now. One of the most important things is doing well at the Grand Slams - there are a lot of points there. I think I can do it. We'll see when it will happen."
Too many UE's today :o Still, it wasn't that bad overall. Putintseva played a good match too.

Aga into Dubai QF ! :yeah:
Very interesting match vs Putintseva. Closer scoreline than I expected. I think Aga underestimated Putintseva. Too passive and too many UEs. But Aga raised her game at end of both sets. Tough match next. Kvitova is slowly but surely coming back, and she leads Head To Head 3-1. This match will tell us more.

Should be a good match against Kvitova. More like a Final lineup than QF.
