Now appears she'll play Petra R2, interesting match.

Really like the way Nastya took care of her serve.

I have a feeling we might be seeing Pavs in the top 15 again this year.

Happy for Pavs, sad for Lucie, who had QF Auckland points to defend.

Many more aces than double faults  Looking fitter as well! Can't wait for the showdown against Kvitova.

I watched the whole match. It was pretty much a serving contest, with both players serving ridiculously well on a court that is known for being very fast (much faster than the centre court).

Both players won their service games very easily throughout the whole match on 2/3 shots points all the time. Pavlyuchenkova served so well that she outserved Hradecka most of the match and also looked a bit better on the rare baseline rallies.

Only 3 breaks of serve in 27 games shows how much this match was serve-dominant. Hradecka looked really good like a top 25/30 player that she is on her best, while Pavlyuchenkova looked her best in years really. Only 2 double faults on a very windy day shows a lot of progress in comparison to the past season.

If she plays like she did today, Pavlyuchenkova vs Kvitova will be an excellent match to follow. And another serving contest by the way!

Ok now that I've composed myself I'd say she looks fitter and her serve looked better than I've seen it in 18 months or so. Really exciting :cheer:

Yeyy. Really looked like she could be in danger, early stages of the third. She looks so much fitter now. And the serve looks promising. I know she was playing against Lucie "I Can't Return To Save My Life" Hradecka, but I mean, she lost only a single point on serve in the first set. Impressive. Hopefully she continues to build. :D

Was this streamed or was it actually televised
It's good they are showing outside courts given that a few years ago they would have been on centre court :)
Sydney needs to learn :)

Even if you think she really sucks, I mean... its Hradecka and not someone actually good.

A kinda doubt that.
Hradecka has bigger serve than Kvitova, even if the latter probably use it better.
And Kvitova is returning much better than Hradecka.
I'd expect 3-4 break in each set.

Oh I knew it. At first point, I put Pavlychenkova as the winner, but I came back to FITD to edit just to put Hradecka as the winner. Huuh

2013 really is the time for her to get her shit together. Her '12 season was just a waste of epic failsome proportions.

I've always felt Babyfat could do well on these kinds of courts.
