Li :tape: Played very poorly all of a sudden in the second. Vika was dire in the MTB, and looked like she was going to smash her racquet a lot because of her shitty play  Vika almost mentally took it seriously, but wasn't ready to give enough effort to win. Stop messing around with Red Foo please and focus on your game!

Garbage from Vika tbh.

Anyways, looks like Li Na is going to start serve and volleying now. Interesting.

VIKA?

I think this was pretty high quality from what I saw and neither treated this like an exhibition. This was Na Li not Sara Errani. If she is on, she can hang with anybody on this planet and she usually starts the year strong, so not that bothered. Thought Vika looked okay and should be ready to go for Brisbane.

Li had to play shitty in the second set and in the super tie-break to even prolong the match.

Either Azarenka wasn't interested in this exhibition or her form is dire.

NaNa service is definitely better, and can bring some more free pointsas it's more accurate.

VIka so pissed every time being robbed by the linesmen. Both played quite solid rallies and I just love some of the Na's runnig winners. They both look ready for the season.

Just knew Na will choke the second set as usual, from 2-0 to 2-6. Vika is so bad in the super tie break. Hope Na will continue the tradtion win the Australian

Either Azarenka wasn't interested in this exhibition or her form is dire.

Na Li is always on form in Australia, and then she is tough to beat for anybody.

2012 AO three sets Clijsters
2012 Sydney three sets Azarenka
2011 AO three sets Clijsters
2011 Sydney title
2010 AO two tiebreaks Serena
2010 Sydney two sets Pennetta
2008 AO three sets Domachowska
2007 AO three sets Hingis
2007 Sydney three sets Clijsters
2006 AO three sets Serena
2006 Sydney two sets Clijsters
2005 AO two sets Sharapova

If you donīt want one player in your AO draw as a top 4 seed it is Na Li, unless Domachowska can qualify and kill her.

Vika clearly cared and so did Na Li. I was happy to see few double faults with the new more free swinging motion.

The second set was solid stuff from Vika, the first set and the TB however :o

I'm confident that this match helped both players to find some rhythm for the start of the season. And I hope we won't have to read comments about RedFoo every time Vika doesn't play at her best during this season.

I know. I was adding the match to show she rarely loses to scrubs in Australia. Donīt forget this was just her 3rd tournament back on the WTA main tour after her extended break. she still managed to reach the 3rd round and beat a seed before losing to Maria. She is obviously a fast starter to the year and really should have won the 2011 Aussie Open. Imho THE player to avoid in the 5-16 seeding range, especially now that Clijsters is not there anymore to stop her.

What is all this panic and anxiety?

Whatever happened to "it is just an exho"?

Of all the exho this year, I can only compare these reactions to Petra's loss.

For Petra, I can understand the reactions, because her year has been uneven at best.
But Vika? She has had a great year and has shown consistency

it's so tennisforumish to make conclusions and suppositions not even whatching matches  Li Na in Istanbul must have beaten Vika , but was too dumb . Now she has shown that she can use different tactics vs Vika, has better serve than Vika , she definitely has a potential to beat Vika at AO for instance. This exho was not an "off-season exho" , both were in competition mode and both tried to win.

An exho is an exho is an exho.
I don't need to watch it to project how the result will affect future performance. Because we never do.
That has been the conventional wisdom regarding exho around here.
