Seems CSN always brings it against Kvitova but Kvitova should win so long as she's playing well enough.

Carla can take this one. Petra has been too inconsistent.

Geesh! The season didn't even start yet.

What are you basing this on?

To my knowledge (unless I'm forgetting something), Petra still pulled out her recent matches with CSN.

CSN beat her in their last meetup at the China Open 6-3 6-2.

Oh OK.

Wasn't that her food poisoning deal in Beijing?

It's the same logic that leads people to favor Serena in tournaments, again prior to the start of the season. Recent reults haven't been too good for Petra (at least according to the standards Petra has set up for herself).

Fair enough.

And I'm not arguing against it Per Se, cause I don't know or claim to know (the answer and Petra's form at the moment). Not at all.

Though I'm not sure either, if Serena, Masha's or Vika's 2012 (or any other player for that matter), will be a legitimate barometer for their 2013?

Trends sometimes have a hard time firmly entrenching themselves in tennis, especially with the women.

No problem. I agree; which is the reason I wrote "Carla can take it (the match)" versus "Carla will take it".

Petra. Carla pulling the upset wouldn't surprise me in the least, though.

A more than tricky one for starters, but also a good chance for Petra to beat a very good player and gain so much needed confidence. As most of her matches it will depend on her balance between winners and UE.
If she is in minimal form she should win, but I wouldn´t be much surprised if she looses.

Damn. Not the draw I wanted for these two who I both like. I'll go with Petra in 3 just to be nice to Carla ;).

It's on Petra's racket (well, all Petra matches are pretty much :oh:).

Petra needs to win, I expect a great season from the real big 4 and she better not fuck this up.
