Kvitova because Wozniacki has nothing to hurt the new (and old :oh:) upper echelon of the game right now.

Kvitova. I think Petra will do really well next year! 2011 was great, 2012 was solid and 2013 will be hopefully great again!

Wozniacki, because Kvitova is still not fit enough to challenge anybody in top10, except maybe Errani and ErrorNa.

I say Caro because she is fitter and she wants it more.

Well, Kvitova had a considerably better season than Woz even in 2012 despite playing at about 30% of her potential, so....

Why are you assuming Kvitova will perform better than she did this year though?

It looks like Wozniacki has been working hard, while I don't think Kvitova wants to win as much as Wozniacki does so it might not pan out as you think ;)

If she reaches anything close to her potential Kvitova is easily poised to do much better. However looking at her last year I guess nothing's certain with her.

Hard to say. Kvitova has about 10 times more potential but she seems really lazy and unfocused now. Wozniacki seems determined to be the best she can be again, which still probably isnt anymore than a World number 6 maximum at this point.

Gotta be Kvitova but I wouldn't be too surprised if Wozniacki gets back into the top 10

Kvitova regardless of her fitness solely because Papa Wozniacki is back in charge.

Kvitova is way more talented so HOPEFULLY her.

Wozniacki had the better end of last season and she definitely wants it so I'll go with Caro on this one.

Kvitova without a doubt.

Wozniacki is in the top 10.

Kvitova's too much of a flight risk, so I'm going with Woz.

My gurl Petra, despite 2012 being disappointing year her results were still strong and way better than Wozz will ever achieve

Preferably both do well, but Kvitova overall is a better player than certain (all but one) members of the top 5, so hopefully she realises and capitalises on that potential and asserts her deserved dominance.

And Petra had a much better start and middle to her season than Caro

Besides, obviously I say this as a certified Woz-hater, but I really do think people are overrating Woz's form at the end of the year. I mean, her GOATly Moscow run consisted of ugly 3-set wins over Scrubulkova and Arvidsson(!!), and a win over Finalsur. Then she got wins over a bunch of nobodies in Sofia before getting a beatdown from Petrova. I just don't see how that's any better than her results the rest of the year

Kvitova is better than most of the top 5 when she's on, but she's rarely on. Therefore OVERALL she is not better than them because they are far more consistent than she is.

When Petra Kvitova won in Montreal and New Haven, I thought for a while that she was finally starting to fill some of those expectations for 2012, but somehow she disappeared again. Even if the Fed Cup final was victorious to the Czechs, their key player was Lucie Šafářová and their doubles team (Andrea Hlaváčková & Lucie Hradecká) would have won their match, if the 5th match had needed.

So I would say that Caroline Wozniacki is a little bit safer bet for 2013, if even Nadia Petrova beat her badly in Sofia. If both of them play well, they are top 5 players, but another bad year would make them perhaps top 20 players.

Petra, I expect her to claim the Sydney title and reach the AO final

caroline. I think she'll stamp her name on the tour again this year. You can call me crazy if you want but now that no one is watching her i could see her winning a slam

I'm not saying she beat a bunch of top 10 players to win titles. I'm just saying she won 2 titles and got to the final of Sofia so she definitely has momentum going into 2013. Petra has absolutely no momentum at all because of injuries and fitness, and her results have been subpar for her

If Wozniacki wants to get back to the top five she has to get past Kerber, MariaS, Azarneka, Serena, Li, Aga.

Don't think that's going to happen.

Errani is the top ten player that doesn't seem to belong, along with the popular opinion that Caroline doesn't as well.

Kvitova seems slightly more motivated than Caro. I think they both possess good shots on court. Caro stays "on the ball" very well.

Petra is just solid like Berdych in all her shots.

I think the passion to tennis and not life in general (Caroline) will propel Petra to greater overall success in 2013 whereas Caroline IMO is more of a glamour player who gets motivated more for grand slams which could lift her ranking higher barring injury of course.

Woz made it to Sofia.
Petra made it to Instanbul.

We can see which had a better 2012. Both had a inferior 2012 compared to their 2011 years, but still.
