So you're picking two teenagers and one who just turned 20, all of which started the year outside the top 300, as 'worst players in the top 100.'

Hoooooookay.

Hoooooookay.

IMO they are the worst, make your picks. I made a Q Round to collect 20 players who are the worst according to all, not like I did earlier.

Sorry but how the following players can be considered the worst in the Top 100?
Just to make some examples:

Annika Beck
This girl is just 18 and she is already in the Top 100 of best active female players, an achievement that many players can just dream of. Maybe she has no big wins, but she has won some good titles in ITF circuit, and the amount of her losses is really poor. She has been progressing year by year, and she has points enough to be safe in the ranking, that means she is not close to going out of Top 100. Almost 150 places gained in just a year, that is impressive.

Camila Giorgi
Leaving apart a good season at ITF level of my favourite, she had a great Wimbledon, beating two good players (Pennetta and Petrova) and coming to the Fourth Round, once again an achievement that many players can just dream about. She is just 21 and she qualified several times to WTA Main Draws. Considering her money problems until Wimbledon, too, this is a huge season for her. 75 places better than last year, by coming through a "hot zone" (120-150), which is hard to surpass. Just look at many girls who are close to Top 100 by years and yet did not enter it.

Polona Hercog
Hercog has won a title, how she can be the worst out of all these players? She had a worst season than last one, this is clear, and her results at Slams have been very bad, but the title saves her and her season enough not to insert her in this list.

Mathilde Johansson
Her "flop" of 5 months can't be denied, but it has to be remarked: after a disastreous start of the year, she managed to pull all her skills together and have a dignitous 2012, with a final and many good wins/matches. She is one player who is able to collect surprising wins here and there, and she almost preserved her ranking from last year.

Iveta Benesova
Benesova could have done more this year, but how can anyone say she is the worst player in Top 100? She is probably one of the girls who achieved less!

Arantxa Rus
She made it to 4th and 3th round at two different slams, once again she had some excellent results against excellent players. She can be not consistent, but she is very young, I am sure she can improve with time.

And I could go on. Arruabarrena-Vecino and Oudin won a title, Morita has been injured many months, Vandeweghe came to a final into a Premier tournament, Panova has definitely improved a lot, Voskoboeva and Bratchikova played some good Grand Slams (they haven't a great consistence, but this is not a valid reason), Daniilidou has built herself a good ranking with good results, Voegele has just come back in Top 100, and I could go on.

Why do you have to make longer a negative list like this? A few names would be enough.

In my opinion, Barbora Strycova has probably had the worst season overall, in terms of results and tennis expressed. Some players are ranked lower than her, you know, but she could have done more while, except for two or three good tournaments, she has done almost nothing. And that's a pity: she is very good when motivated.
But I would not even vote for her, honestly.

I can imagine that many users will use this chance to vote against the players they dislike more, and that's a real pity. Dislike can be ok, but destroying an entire year, knowing how hard these girls work to stay in Top 100, in order to give our singular feelings about them a voice is not ok.

I just posted all players from 71-100, because when I made IMO Semifinals, where I excluded all of them except Beck, people didn't like it. Pick your 5 and players above won't participate in Semifinals.

So you're picking two teenagers and one who just turned 20, all of which started the year outside the top 300, as 'worst players in the top 100.'

Hoooooookay.

How can anyone who reached their career best ranking be the "worst" in 2012? Weird selections - I agree.

Going by form and form only ..... Cadantu. The new Martina Muller.

Date's year has been pretty shocking. Two wins on the main tour all year (Parmentier and Lertpitaksinchai). Her post-November string of events is the only thing keeping her in the top 100. Granted she won 13 of her last 15 matches, but her best win there was over #97 Doi.

Kimiko was basically injured 1/3 of the year. (or even 2/3)
It's just she won't WD until she really can't walk...

Heavily injured May to Augest and Autumn season was basically a REHAB.
She finally got in-form post season and sweeped points back in TOP100.

Tough year for KDK,
pursuing OG ended up crazy schedule let injury hanging around all year.

is it too late?

doi
minella
daniilidou

but i also think peer, benesova, and strycova and have had disappointing seasons

in my humble opinion, if you've got some GS:MD wins, reached a final of a wta and pocketed an important ITF tourney, then that constitutes as a solid season for someone in the 70-100 range. win/loss records only mean anything when the wins are over other top 100 right? i don't really credit age to it anymore. game is game. kudos to the youngsters who've made an impression and those elders who've stayed in it (basically it's a pleasure for us all for any date win). also, injury should be noted as a lapse in performance.

You can vote only for one player! :)

OMG.
Do we need Semi finals?

Selecting 20 players out of 28 was pretty limited in the first place...
looks like Top10 are clear by 4 votes. why don't we just have finals with 10 players.

New season is beginning from Saturday... do we have time for SF and Finals?
I kinda feel this playoff's gonna take quite a time too....
