Yep, that's right!!! I got fleas! I took my cat with me to Texas way back when and she brought back fleas from my Dad's house. I had (or so I thought) them under control but then they just came back full force. Now I think they have nested in two places for sure, my couch and my bathroom. It sucks because everytime I use the bathroom my ankles itch for a few minutes afterward and sitting on the couch is no longer comfortable. What shall I do? I try and try to kill them on my cat, but it does no good when reserves are waiting in each room!!! I am thinking about putting up with it for another month, then when I take her to get declawed I will bomb (not suicide, but the pesticide) the apartment and stay at my boyfriend's place. I can't think of much else to do. I think the only person who doesn't mind the fleas is my cat.

We had this problem a couple of years ago. I remember lying on the floor, reading the newspaper and seeing about fifteen of the little buggers hopping about on the paper. It got quite serious when one of our children developed an allergy to the bites.
There's nothing else for it; call a pest controller to come and spray your house (the larvae - like tiny white worms - live in the carpet until a suitable host comes along) and get some 'Frontline' * from your Vet (for the cat!)
The infestation should clear up in a few days.
*Or whatever they call it in America; small 'pipettes' of stuff you apply to the back of the cat's neck once a month.

We had fleas thanks to our cat a few months back (my sister's legs are still a mess), but we got loads of flea stuff rom the vet's for the cat and sprayed the entire house so everything is fine now. Thank the lord. :o
