Roberts still Hollywood's leading lady
15.20PM GMT, 3 Dec 2002

Julia Roberts has been named the highest-paid Hollywood actress for the second year running, even though her only film role of 2002 being a box-office flop.

The Oscar winner is still worth 13 million a movie, even after starring in Steven Soderbergh's poorly-received Full Frontal.

According to the Hollywood Reporter survey, her market value remained buoyant because of the high salaries she earned for upcoming films Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile.

Cameron Diaz, who stars in the Gangs of New York, was rated second. She is also said to be worth up to 13 million per performance.

Sandra Bullock, who stars alongside Hugh Grant in the upcoming romantic comedy Two Weeks Notice, was rated the sixth highest paid actress, with a price tag of 8-10 million.

And recently engaged Jennifer Lopez was the ninth most expensive actress at 8 million.

However, Robert's ranking in the showbiz magazine's 100 most powerful women has slipped.

This year, Paramount Pictures chairwoman Sherry Lansing and Oprah Winfrey topped the list, with the former at No 1, having slipped to No 2 last year, while the chatshow host ranked No 8.

Roberts who was No 3 last year, slid down to No 12, while Madonna fell from No 42 to No 60 this year.

Conspicuously absent from the list this year was US lifestyle guru Martha Stewart, who ranked about 57 last year, but whose image has been tarnished by an insider trading investigation.

Ranking No 2 was Stacey Snider, chairman of production for Universal Pictures, who commanded the No 1 spot last year.

Rounding out the top five were Amy Pascal, Vice Chairman of Sony Pictures at No 3, Nancy Tellem, President of CBS Entertainment, ranking fourth, and Michele Anthony, Executive VP, Sony Music Entertainment at No 5.

The highest-paid actress list reads:

1. Julia Roberts 13 million

2. Cameron Diaz 13 million

3. Drew Barrymore 10 million

4. Jodie Foster 10 million

5. Reese Witherspoon 10 million

6. Sandra Bullock 8-10 million

7. Angelina Jolie 8-10 million

8. Nicole Kidman 8-10 million

9. Jennifer Lopez 8 million

10. Renee Zellweger 6.5 million
