13-year old CiCi Bellis making her ITF debut. There are a few videos of her on youtube...the girl has got game.

Hayley should win this pretty easily if she is healthy. :)

It's too bad I just saw this iPatty or I would have asked if you wanted me to watch any players in particular - I was able to go down and watch for the last 3 days. Catherine Bellis impressed me a ton when I watched her play - she's a super smart player and was even hitting the ball bigger than some of the older girls  She made it to the doubles finals as well.

Also I feel like Taylor Davidson did not play that well the whole tournament - she had to save 3 match points against Renaud to win that match and got destroyed by McCarthy. She was just super inconsistent throughout the matches I watched.

Carter and McCarthy had a nice finals match - both consistent players so they had some nice long rallies but in the end Carter was just a little more aggressive which I feel was the deciding factor

You just mentioned the four girls that I would have asked you to watch, so no worries.

Yeah, CiCi Bellis is definitely one I've been keeping my eye on. Great effort from her in her ITF debut. Had you seen Kaitlyn play before last week? She seems to have been making big strides the past few months and I was wondering if you saw anything in particular in her game.

This was the first time I've actually sat down and watched Kaitlyn play whereas before I think I've maybe watched her play only a couple games - so I can't really compare her to the player she was a few months ago because I didn't see enough of her game back then but I know her results have definitely improved. For me watching it just seems like she doesn't make many mistakes. She is a very solid player who may not overpower someone, but always seems to make the right play. She seems to always know where her opponent is on the court and takes advantage of it (she'd always move forward and take balls early at the right times, hit her drop-shots and angles at the right times, etc).

Basically Kaitlyn is a player that you have to beat, she's not going to beat herself. She may not hit a super powerful ball but makes up for it by being solid all-around (moves ok but anticipates really well, serves well, hits her groundstrokes solid - seemed to be a little more solid on the backhand side, comes forward at the right times and volleys well, etc).

Sorry this sort of rambles on and on but hopefully it makes some sense

Agree on Kaitlyn. She really harassed Gabby Andrews at Claremont Team tournament this Summer.

Taylor losing so easily to Kaitlyn is a bit surprising. She actually beat Kyle at the Team Tournament and harassed Allie at the National.
