And of course Cicak gifting the Russians the first set with her call

They might not play together next year based on their answer. Very good play from Kirilenko. Goodluck to both teams next week.

Hradcka was dreadful.
i f*cking love Kirilenko in dubs. Great net play AND no fake grunting.

Interviewer: "Will you play together in 2013?"
Kirilenko: "We will see" *smiles*

It's like asking a couple:
- Why don't you have babies now? You've been together for so long!

Well, congrats. They barely made it to the YEC and are now the champions.:worship:
Nadia had some amazing volleys today. Maria was covering the whole court and was more stable during the match. That's a good team.

 to Hlavackova and Hradecka who lost focus after arguing with the umpire.

Finally another big title for the team. Masha and Nadia should play together in 2013. They make such a good team

Poor Czechs, got screwed by the umpire(who's that woman?). Could've been a little more competitive the match if not for that call. Still bridesmaids.

They were playing awful the 1st set yesterday, then Maria got on fire and carried them.Nadia looked very nervous to me at 54 30-30, it was important that Maria closed it out

According to Davenport...not sure how true this is but she said that Kirilenko is supposed to play with Raymond next year and Petrova with Srebotnik

Well done to the Russians though Kirilenko came across a bit poorly in the on court interview, barking what? At Katrina Adams and saying the match was easy and that they expected to dominate it.

Indeed the interview was not Maria's best performance today...

Absolutely deserved. However, I kind of hoped at 4-5* 30-0 that H&H might turn it around, but they're still not that good. But considering their age, they still have a great future in the doubles.

Well done Russians :yeah:

Probably very reliable, Lisa is one of Lindsay's good friends.

Congrats Maria/Nadia!
The Czechs weren't in their best day today, especially Lucie.
Maybe the drama in the 1st set somewhat affected them too.

2 of my favorites teams in the final and Kirilenko with the title? :bounce: :woohoo:

The umpire was right in her decision. You can't use the hawkeye if you play the ball and Hradecka hit it. The Czechs deserved that point but the umpire was right in her decision. The Russians were just better today anyway.

Kirilenko and Petrova has had an incredible year, congrats on both of them. Once they beat the Italians, that title was theirs.

i thought it was Petrova/Raymond and maybe Kirilenko will team up with Hantuchova, i guess i got it all wrong. Better for them to get doubles only player so they can play any tournament they want.

Congrats Nadia and Maria!

The issue with them is I don't think they're personally that compatible. They've showed how good they are though here and beating Serenus. Please play together next year!!

Agreed, but I think that lack of compatibility is why it's not worth it for them. Singles is still top priority for both and doubles is supposed to be fun. It's not a situation like Huber/Raymond, where they didn't click in terms of personality but were willing to suck it up and treat it like a business because they could win Slams together.

 Kiri and Nadia are best friends. Plus Nadia is a bit more temperamental while Kiri's more calm. I don't get your point.

No, it's not that obvious with the umpire's decision. Of course, Hradecká played the ball: it was a half-volley close to the baseline. But before the ball started to descend, Andrea raised her hand. It is a matter of judgement whether the challenge could have been faster, but concerning the situation (no-AD point), it was pretty quick, I would say.

From what Hlaváčková told the czech press afterwards, Cicak (at first) probably did not see Andrea's hand raised, and when Andrea finally said 'challenge', the umpire did not allowed it for it was too late.

For me, this situation serves just as another proof that no-ADs should have never been brought to existence... Stupid media pressure!!

Well, according to some interviews i believe Nadia and Maria won't play together next year, though i really want them to win a slam a together!

I think the main reason - they a bit tired of each other + some loses were painful...

Anyway that was a good decision to make a team - Miami title, RG finalists, Bronze medal, YEC, 2 finals. And beating Vinci-Errani - twice, + Williams sisters

obama08 has been hinting at Raymond/Kirilenko:oh: I don't think they'll be good together. I mean, Maria tends to like to have fun on the doubles court, Lisa is kind of serious in Women's Doubles. And then game wise, I don't know if they will mesh well. We'll see. Petrova/Srebotnik isn't surprising since it was hinted at because they were supposed to team up a few years ago and made Montreal Final.

Petrova has 2 Miami's and 2 YEC's, Maria with a Miami and YEC. Definitely proving to be best current players without a slam.

I don't see any evidence for this at all.

I have no idea about their relationship off-court, I'm only talking about on court. They don't seem to interact very much with each other during play and I'm sure Maria is tired of having to calm Nadia's nerves down in major matches. And this is coming from a Petrova fan.

Dave, Raymond is NOT a fan of Huber. It's really obvious. During a couple of their press conferences at New Haven and the US Open, Raymond was literally rolling her eyes or raising them in disbelief at some of Huber's responses to questions.

They really had no intention to go big this year, they only played for the olympics.

I only support a split if it means we get the return of Azarenka/Kirilenko (which we won't  ) I hope Maria doesn't pair with Raymond like has been rumored.
