We have the San Diego, Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka Champs taking on the Miami Champs and Roland Garros Finalists.

Results this week:
Kops-Jones/Spears def. Groenefeld/Peschke 6-3 1-6 [11-9], def. (3) Llagostera Vives/Mirza 7-5 6-4.

(2) Kirilenko/Petrova def. Pliskova/Pliskova 6-4 4-6 [11-9], Lee-Waters/Moulton-Levy 6-1 3-6 [10-7].

I am so glad we get the showdown for the final spot match-up, to have an interesting YEC race here in doubles unlike in singles. It will feel well deserved for whoever wins the match. Who will hold their nerve and win?

It'll be interesting to see how Rocky/Abi handle their nerves for this, especially with the home crowd on the Russians' side.

Will the SF be played on Saturday? else MashaK may be tired from playing in the QF tomorrow...

Final tends to be on Saturday, so I think both SFs will be tomorrow unless they changed the scheduling.

don't see it -- is the only point of the delay to give Maria one more chance to lose in singles?

To give Maria more rest and a better chance to do well in both events I think (even though she just lost in singles). But it only hurts them since streaky Nadia hasn't played in 3 days by the time they finally do play.

Istanbul doubles is going to be fun I think all of the teams could win who could qualify

The 2012 is the weakest doubles season in recent memory but the Americans have no business competing in Istanbul.

Let me be honest:

I hope Liezel-and-Lisa withdraw.
So both teams can qualify! :)
