I'll start out with Monique's quiz

1. Warsaw, Poland?
2. Beijing, China
3. India?
4. Barcelona or France?
5. Toronto, Canada
6. Rio de Janerio, Brazil
7. Greece?
8. I dunno? Fiji, New Zealand, Samoan Islands, Tahiti, Polynesian Islands?
9. Sydney, Australia

Err...think you're supposed to pm the answers rather than post 'em, Candy.

But I can say with a degree of certainty that the first one of Moniques's is not in Poland. ;)

I've been to #'s 1, 3, 4, 6 & 7 on gmt's list; 1 and possibly 6 on Monique's--from what I recognize (And of course, I know where #9 is). Too lazy to play for real, but it's a nice diversion anyway. (I sure miss travelling *sigh* I need to go another sojourn soon)

gmt's easy now! There are only two I don't know right away!

And I guess I'll pm Monique as well;)

Oh, now why didn't I see this easy thread first....although i shouldn't call it easy, as I still only know 5 or 6 for sure :p

So, do I post the replies now or do you want to search a bit more?

people can just right click on the pics to know the answer

I didn't do that, I swear, when I sent you my answers!
I've been to #1 two summers ago, never been to #2 but did recognise it, didn't know 3, 4 had just been in the news, got a postcard of 5, been to 6, 7 8 and 11, even been to 9 though I didn't recognise it :o, remembered 10 from a TV show.

hehe well, the two of gmt's that I thought I knew were right (using the method Tine found)... but I didn't look at the pic names of the other ones yet!

I know them all except for #5 on Monique's list :o

Monique

And the answers are:

1 - Prague, Czech Republic
2 - Beijing, China
3 - Istambul, Turkey
4 - Milan, Italy
5 - Toronto, Canada
6 - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
7 - Cape Town, South Africa
8 - French Polynesia
9 - Sydney, Australia

Tine, you got all the ones you answered right, and gmt, you only missed Prague...Congratulations! http://www.smilies.nl/happy/xyxthumbs.gif http://www.smilies.nl/happy/xyxwave.gif

Wow, #5 is really the CN tower in Toronto? I thought it was surrounded by skyscrapers. :o

It's rather embarassing when I can't recognise places where I've actually been :o
I didn't recognise Cape Town right away. I always expect to see Table Mountain on a Cape Town pic. By the time I realised that pic was Cape Town I'd already sent my answers.
Toronto I recognised from postcards I received from Canadian friends :)

Kyoto's shows the Ryoanji stone garden. It's all esoteric. There is a well-defined number of buried stones as well.
