I figured most of them were European, I got that part at least. Couldn't you have chosen more famous parts of the cities, parts that are easier to recognise?

hehe I got one almost right... the rest were dismal failures... the one I was close on... #9... I got the right country, but the town was wrong... it wasn't where I thought, and I hadn't actually been there... must have seen a pic of it or so... coz I know what the horse must be a statue for... ;)

I only know 1 for certain. I have a doubt about another one and I think I guessed the country from a third one. This is hard.

btw, yes gmt, where I thought the tower was, there is a big one... it's supposed to be the biggest in Europe there... which is why I was sure that was the one I had seen! lol Guess my memory back to 2000 isn't so good! ;)

Well, I saw this thread and was going to come in here and wow you all with my tourist knowledge....but I haven't a clue about a single one of these pics :o Think I got a couple of countries right....but as for the cities....

Mitch, the countries is a good start. That's how I got started too. Once you know the country, it's easier to find the city.

When are you going to post the answers for those of us who are too embarrassed to pm our guesses? :o

Btw, 10 in Europe gives the Euros an unfair advantage, you know! (I've only spent about 16 weeks over there in my entire life; hardly enough to get to know the continent intimately). ;)

Tine, it definitely make it easier to guess the cities after I figured out the countries, but still....I'm crushed, here I thought I was so good at geography ;) haha

Earthcrystal, I've never been to any of these places either.

Mitch, once you've got the country, take out an atlas, look at the cities in that country and do a search on them and voilà!

How else was I to know, eh? It's still not that easy to find, even when you do a search. It took me quite some time last night. And now you're putting down all my efforts *wails*

The fact that I actually did a search shows how desperate I am to make people believe I've got some brains that I've got no life and therefore spend my time looking up cities I've never heard of I am quite determined and always eager to learn ;)

I recognised 6 of the 14 cities and then I guessed on the other 8 and I got 3 right (only the country though) and I was close on 4 others. Only 1 was a complete failure :o lol

I recognised the country of 8 right away, but must confess I'd never heard of that city before.

I haven't been to city #1 but I have a nice picture book of that particular country ;), so I recognised it right away.
And yes, the proverbs look similar, but do they mean the same? What does the Polish one mean? ;)

Tine, I recognised #8 thanks to the tower of the cathedral. I remember most cathedrals in that regian have a steeper tower.

But you had to look up the name of the city, right Josh? (please say yes, pleeease) ;)

To make you feel perfectly at ease, some European posters have already PM'd me very, errr, interesting guesses :D (And frankly, the guesses and the ideas are more interesting than the answers, which are only incentive to go there and visit those places actually :cool:...)
