Hello and welcome to my first WTA Blog!
I played the Kremlin Cup last year and I was really surprised at how slow the courts were, so this year I came a few days earlier to practice here. I knew what to expect. So for sure this year will be better for me than last year!
I had my first match today against Francesca Schiavone. I don't think I was focused well in the beginning and she started very well, and so I went down 2-0. But after those two games I really started believing I could win this match. I started to play better and came back - I was happy with how I played today.
Francesca is a very, very tough player. A great fighter. She's more dangerous on clay because she plays with so much topspin. I'm not sure she's playing as well as she was when she won Roland Garros, but she's still great. After the match she was talking to me a little bit - she's a really nice person, as well.
This is the last week of the season for me, and looking back, it has been a tough year. In the beginning of the year I was playing week after week so I could get to the Olympics, and then in between Wimbledon and the Olympics I played in the US too - if I knew I'd make the Olympics, I wouldn't have played in between! I was playing so much this year and I'm a little bit tired.
But on the other hand, I've been playing very well in the second half of the year. I'm really happy about it. My goal was actually to be in the Top 50, so if someone told me at the beginning of the year I'd be Top 30, I would be so happy. I think my best memory was my first final of a WTA tournament, in 's-Hertogenbosch. I love playing on grass and I played really well there, so I think that was my best memory in 2012, but there are a lot of other good ones.
Have a nice day everyone and I'll write you all again tomorrow :)
So last night I didn't really do much. Even though it was my coach's birthday, it was already pretty late after my match, so I just gave him a present (which he was happy with!) and that's pretty much it, it was off to bed...
Every morning we go to Starbucks for breakfast, because I love the Vanilla Lattes. And of course this morning we did that again, and then I went to the courts to practice, then had a massage, then came back and had a rest.
Because I didn't have a match today I had time to do some other fun things, and one of them was an autograph session - it was awesome! I didn't expect so many people would be there, and so many kids pushing to get an autograph. It's nice to see how many fans I have in Moscow. I really enjoyed meeting them!
I also had my make-up done by Oriflame, which was fun. I've attached photos :)
Tomorrow I have my second round match against Caroline. I played her in April this year, so I know her game, and my sister has played her a couple of times this year too. She's not only an amazing player, she's also my best friend. At tournaments we go to dinner and spend time together all the time, and she speaks Polish so it's really nice. It will be a tough match - but when I go on the court I'm not really thinking about who's on the other side of the net, whether it's my friend or a big star. I just focus on my game and try to win every match.
Speaking of my sister, I've been asked whether I'm going to go to Istanbul next week to watch her, but I'm actually going to Los Angeles for the week because I'm doing a photo shoot and filming for a new app, so fans can follow my career better - what I'm doing, where I'm playing, my blog, photos, videos... the company doing it is Emediastar and I'm very excited about it! Stay tuned...
The week after that I'll see my sister because we're going on vacation! We aren't sure where yet, but for sure we'll be going somewhere hot with a nice beach, an island or something... because in Poland it's cold right now!
Then Christmas at home, then off to Australia right away...
Have a good night and I'll talk to you again tomorrow :)
Oct 17th, 2012, 04:23 AM
Nice(but she should rather "present birthday gift")
What a year for her reaching the top 30 :cheer: Big things to come next year hopefully

Caroline was playing so well today. This surface really suits her game - she was running very well and not missing - so it was tough. It was my last match for the year and it could have been better, but she was just better...
I'll work hard in the off-season and come back better next year!
Because this was a night match I had all day, and I didn't want to spend all day in the room. So I went to the gym and did some running and some stretching, then came to the courts around 3 or 4 o'clock. I was warming up then just waiting for my match. I like playing night session, so it wasn't too bad to wait.
Yesterday I mentioned going to LA and then on vacation, and after that I'm going to go home to Krakow. I'm just going to practice there with Agnieszka. It's our base and we try to practice there whenever we can during the season.
Thank you all for reading my blog this week! And thank you for all of your questions - I'll answer some of them now... take care :)

Tough group. 1 win seems guaranteed.

WTA Champs Tuesday OOP:
Radwanska vs. Kvitova,
Serena vs. Kerber,
Sharapova vs. Errani
Epic match. It was so close, took over 3 hours, finished after 2am. I think Aga played very well until 7-5 4-2. Very impressive, Aga has improved so much. Sharapova was too powerful. Not a shame to lose to her, she is 2nd best active player (Serena is the best obviously). Hope Aga beats Errani now and reaches SF.
See You in 2013 :sobbing: (before please win few games with Serena;))
Oct 26th, 2012, 08:47 PM
Huber/Raymond vs. Hlavackova/Hradecka,
Oct 26th, 2012, 09:09 PM
Well, drawing Serena in semifinal was certainly not a gift from the beginning, but after playing around 6 hours in 2 days... Impossible mission. Hopefully I'm wrong ;)
Good luck Aga, fight as usual and congrats again for today :yeah:
Oct 26th, 2012, 10:02 PM
From her Facebook official page:
"Now I'm only dreaming of lying down and closing my eyes. Sweet dreams!"
Oct 26th, 2012, 10:51 PM
It's great that she made the SF round this year. :yeah: During/after the American HC season I was worried her form would be subpar till the end of the year, but she picked it up and has 2 remarkable results to back it up. But I think she was in her best form in the first four months of this year and maybe during off season she'll rest and work well enough to go back there or possibly even higher.
Hopefully Serena treats it tomorrow more like an exhibition than a competitive match, it'd be bad to be
Oct 26th, 2012, 10:54 PM
Her goal is already achieved, as she wanted to reach the semifinals. Now she will have to fight and give the best she can still produce, probably not enough unfortunately to really threat Serena. But a good fight at least would be satisfying :)
Oct 26th, 2012, 11:45 PM
By the way, today's win over Errani was Aga's 30th victory against a top 10 player :yeah:
Oct 27th, 2012, 11:13 AM
I've just finished watching a replay of yesterday's match. I'm so proud of her. Errani was playing out of her mind, but Agnieszka kept fighting till the very end. Even though you could see she's dead tired
It was a pleasure to be her fan during this season.
Nothing to lose against Serena now.
Oct 27th, 2012, 11:32 AM
Well done, Aga ! :D
Errani is incredibly annoying. Her game and her grunt/scream. Aga had a lot of problems with her topspin that pushed Aga back and out of the court. Thank God Aga won the important points. Mentally very strong and what a great fight against the wall. Very proud of Aga. Many fantastic points from Aga, she is so smart. I loved the successful net attacks. Such a joy to watch.

Fantastic year Aga! Can't wait to do it all again in 2013 :inlove:
Oct 28th, 2012, 06:23 AM
Toronto and rest
I'm sure next year she'll have even more fans than now all over the world
Oct 28th, 2012, 08:20 PM
No shame losing to Serena, the eventual champion and best player in the world. Nice handshake and words from Serena at the net. Aga can be very proud of her week, reaching YEC SF for the first time. I really enjoyed her tennis, the matches against Sharapova and Errani were impressive. Aga is so smart, reminds me so much of Martina Hingis.

Aga needs to rest and get ready for the next season.
Hopefully Aga can be our new #1 in the 2013 season :D
Nov 22nd, 2012, 07:36 PM
If she keeps improving, then I don't see anything negative for her in the next years ;)
She has been top 15 without any break for about 4 or 5 years now even when she was playing at a very average level. She has made some improvements and is now a top 4 player. And she still has some things she can improve :)
Looking at her results at the beginning of the year last year, I am very excited to see how far Ula can go up the rankings. She has pretty much nothing to defend until Brussels :cheer:
Top 20 is definitely possible. Especially since she has so little points at the big events (the Australian Open, Indian Wells, and Miami)
Can't wait for this season :rocker2:
Dec 6th, 2012, 07:10 PM
Agnieszka will play Czech Extraleague in mid-December. She is in team with her beloved Czechs  Kvitova, Safarova and Cetkovska. Her most probable opponents are: Zakopalova (that one is 100%), Pironkova, Foretz Gacon, Camerin and in the final Hradecka or Rybarikova. :)

The Tennis Space
Friday, 14 December 2012
Wimbledon finalist Agnieszka Radwanska answers questions from readers of The Tennis Space:
When you’re playing a match, do you find that you end up having casual thoughts about the rest of your day? Also, if you caught a goldfish and he gave you three wishes, what would you wish for? (Ola.) To be honest I’m normally really focused during the matches, from one point to the next… 3 wishes, that’s tough… Maybe Wimbledon, the French and the US Open… All in one year… haha
Apart from Krakow, where do you feel most at home on your travels? (Tom Colin.) I love Krakow so that it my absolute number 1! I like Miami (have fond memories there after winning last year) and Indian Wells is a beautiful place with a nice vibe too. I have a good record at Wimbledon, dating back to when I won the juniors, so that always brings back special memories too.
First of all I must say I love your style of play. It’s not about baseline grinding like the power players. You have so much finesse in your game and I love that. So what’s the surface which best suits your game? And is that also your favourite surface to play on? (Nabonita Bala.) I like hard court and grass. Funnily enough, I grew up practicing on red clay though.
What type of music do you like to listen to before matches? (Sebastien Guilotte.) I’m listening to a lot of Kanye West right now.
First of all can I say just how much you’ve inspired me as I followed your progression through Wimbledon. You’re amazing. My question to you is, from starting tennis so young, how did you not lose interest? As at that age I didn’t know what to do. (Joe Needham.) That’s a good question. Tennis is obviously an individual sport so it can get very lonely and a lot of kids lose interest. I have always been fortunate enough to play a similar schedule as my sister, Ula, so we’ve kept each other motivated. For me, I have the best job in the world, traveling the world and playing tennis
Is it easy to have friends on the tour? (Rachel). It can be both easy and hard because these are your rivals. There are a few native Polish speakers, Caro and Angie for example who like to chat!
Have you thought about what you’re going to do after your playing career? Would you like to do something connected to tennis or maybe something completely different? Have you found something which could possibly make you as happy as playing tennis? (Magdalena Golec.) I have been studying for a degree in tourism at university so perhaps I’ll use that in some capacity.
If you had to choose between winning a grand slam in singles or a grand slam in doubles with your sister, what would you choose? (Sports Guy.) Great question. Would have to be both! And Olympic Gold. And Fed Cup! Am I asking for too much? Ha ha.
Agnieszka will play her first match in Czech League tomorrow. Probably against Zakopalova. :)
