Does anyone know any websites where I can look at places for rent in Belgium? Or even that would give me an idea of size-cost to rent? I'm really thinking about moving to either Holland or Belgium at the end of next year or beginning of 2004. I found some pages for houses to hire in Holland, but can't find anything in Belgium!

Any help very much appreciated! :D

Where in Belgium/Netherlands would you like to live Sarah?

Preferably near the Dutch/Belgian border..ie in the Netherlands somewhere near Roosendaal/Breda/Bergen op Zoom, or in Belgium maybe near Antwerpen... or Hasselt I guess. But I mean hey, somewhere that's cheap is always good! ;)

Well I guess somewhere near Hasselt will probably be cheaper cause all those rich Dutchies live north of Antwerp near the Dutch border. ;)

So I should look around Hasselt? ;) I only want a small place... one bedroom, kitche and bathroom is fine for me, but everything seems so expensive! I can see one bedroom appartments on that immo site, but not for les than 300euro a month!

Yeah, it's gonna be hard to find something for less than Ä300/month. Have you found something in the Netherlands yet? I don't really know how prices there compare to Belgium.

Maybe you could look in Oost-Vlaanderen near the border with Zeeland. I think it might be a bit cheaper over there.

I found this one in Eeklo :

yeah but is a gemeubeld? ;) I wanted one with furniture! hehe But I can't really afford more than 300 euro a month if I then have to pay bills and have money for food! lol

Where the heck is Eeklo?

See, it depends if I get into Uni next year. If I get into Uni, then I can't move until the end of next year, but if I don't get into Uni, then I'd think about moving around July or so! :D

Hmmm I dunno if it's gemeubeld....you probably have a build-in kitchen I suppose but no bed and closets...

Eeklo is in Oost-Vlaanderen, north of Gent, near the border with Zeeland.

I went to school in Eeklo for 6 years. It's a typical provincial city.

ahh ok, near Ghent! lol I don't know the provinces in Belgium very well! lol Just the big cities, sorry! ;)

I'm afraid it's not going to be easy to find an apartment for less than Ä300/month, unless you look for a roommate.

*gets more depressed* bugger it! Why does Europe have to be so expensive??? I don't really want a room mate... well, unless she's my gf! ;)

You can live with us, hehe, I live near the Dutch border :D

Not wanting a roommate just makes it harder ofcourse, the prizes here are increasing every year :(

It's cheaper in Belgium to live. Try near the border somewhere in the the north of Antwerp or in the north or east (that's where I live) of Limburg.

hehe would that be living in your house, or outside it? lol Bram offered me his garden shed! ;)

Well, it depends how big the place is. I mean I don't want a tiny one bedroom place with a room mate....unless like I said before... she is my gf! ;)
