Kveta's handshake! :haha:
Though she was rightly bitter, Matkowski sucks. :tears:

Goodbye, Kveta!:)

Congrats to the winning team! It's a shame that Kim and Bob had to face them in round one.

How wonderful. This team paired up at the 11th hour and for them to go through the draw, send Kim packing once and for all, and hang tough in that tiebreaker being down championship point was great. Congrats to them both!!!!!!

:bounce: Congrats Katya :yeah: Congrats Bruno :yeah:

Kveta

Somehow I think it's good for sport when Matkowski loses.

Ekat :yeah: She saved that MP at 9-10 so nicely.
Congrats to both of them for their title!

Kveta  Her last slam. I was hoping she'd finish winning it.

That was entertaining. It gives these guys a chance at $75,000, which is good for those ATP players. Makarova, I still think she can have a good singles career, along with doubles with Vesnina and mixed

Too bad for Peschke/Matkowski, after winning 5 points in a row at 4-8 in the super tie-break and having 2 match points... But congrats to them for this final, and to Makarova/Soares for their magnificent run to the title here :yeah:

What? Matkowski sucks? Peschke sux more
No, Matkowski missed lots of forehand and returns, he wasn't better than Peschke in this match.

Somehow I think it's good for sport when Matkowski loses.
What did the Polish players do to you to deserve such a hate from you?
Respect them at least a little, that would be good for sport.

I like Marta and Ula, so it's not like I hate all of them.

For what it's worth, Kveta may not be retiring. She said in her press conference after her first round doubles win that she was considering it at one point, but has NOT made any concrete plans to quit. As far as she's concerned, she will be playing in 2013.

That's terrific! Kveta has much left in the tank. :hearts:

Matkowski made some terrible mistakes at the net. Not that Kveta was flawless, but still she was the stronger wing in the team - and throughout the tournament.

Thanks a lot for this information! I didn't really trust that one guy who posted in here she wanted to have babies. I watched every match of hers here at the US Open that had been streamed and she was rock solid and I've never seen her play that well!
Matkowski said in the trophy ceremony that him and Kveta will be back next year and Kveta will try to reach the final for the 4th time and finally take that trophy:drink:

Also, I think Matkowski is a great partner for Kveta. Of course, playing his kind of tennis he wil miss a few here and there, and Kveta prefers the same style. Hit or miss basically. Makarova was lucky to save that match point at 9-10 as in 90% of the cases she would've missed that pick-up ball or that swinging volley at least since she was so out of balance.

Very very unfortunate loss for Kveta and Marcin, but this pairing is one of the best mixed doubles pairing I have seen so far. Kveta also said in her blog (http://blog.tenniswarehouse.com/miscellaneous/kveta-into-mixed-doubles-final-at-us-open/) that she loves the fact that Marcin gives 100% even tho he had lost early in doubles.

Great tournament for both:hug:

Kveta  wasted 2 mps, may never be soo near again...

But good to hear she don't retire :)

Its been long since the first time I saw her in 1999 Leipzig beating Kim :)

This match showed exactly why Marcin is a horrible Mixed player. 4-5 to 6-5 was all Kveta in the first set. That should not happen. And then his crazy errors and DFing to Ekat in the STB:facepalm:

Kveta, 3-time US Open Mixed Runner-up:hug:

Congrats to Soares and Ekat. I like Soares, he is a great Mixed player. But not so much in this match. In the first set, he was trying to be too flashy with the tweeners and it cost them. But he is so good. Loved his pairing with Jarmila.

Peschke made a lot of errors, and Matkowski wasn't so great himself, but I was really amazed that Soares/Katya were able to eke out that final MP. Fun match.

How come this was unfortunate loss?

Makarova/Soares were by far the better team all match. Could easily win it in two (break up, serving for the first set..), nearly bagelled Matkowski/Peschke in 15 minutes of the second set and then choked huge lead during STB...

Katya with Bruno Soares are well deserved winners!:yeah:
