First Laura Robson wasn't quite able to pull off the upset because Stosur was just too experienced. Then I watched Petra Kvitova capitulate to Marion Bartoli overnight, now I've just watched Angelique Kerber not knowing how to deal with Sara Errani's slow serve, extreme topspin and slow shots :fiery::banghead:

Commmiserate with me  Anyone else's US Open ruined after just four rounds this year??

I feel for you, mine was 90% over after R1, sucks if you look forward to a tournament this long and it all falls apart.

Luckily Vika has been saving it from being a total disaster so far

Mine was pretty much destroyed after the first round :sobbing:

All I need is another beatdown for Masha in the final to make it officially the worst US Open ever :cheer:

Yup. Venus, Na and now Angie all out before the QFs.

Great.

 It's a good opportunity though to find new players to root for.

For me personally, it's actually a great US Open until now, especially the 4th round. :p

I still have faith in Serena

and potential in doubles with Shushu and Su-Wei :)

but overall this tournament was quite dissapointing, yeah.

Yeah, I've felt that. But...I always find myself watching the rest of the tournament. :haha:

Nope. Ivanovic, Serena, Sharapova, Azarenka all still in.

Plus, Vinci-Radwanska is going to be interesting to watch, regardless.

I have to cheer for Azarenka. Everyone else is gone. US Open are over now. Next week Quebec with Barthel.

Mine was pretty much done in round 2. Slava and Tsonga went out on the same day  Only get Del Potro left, and he doesn't look convincing

Not really, but this year's Roland Garros was really a disaster for me. All my faves left the site before QF except Angelique and even she lost in QF to Errani, which only made my whole French Open even worse. At the end even the player I dislike won the tournament. But I didn't really get to me at that time as I knew Wimbledon was soon. :p

Kerber lost to Errani in the 4R not QF

I can relate! Although I was not too perturbed that Laura Robinson lost; at eighteen she probably has a lot of great tennis ahead of her. I didn’t mind Petra losing either since Marion is an entertaining player to watch. However Angelique’s loss definitely was a bummer. I was looking forward to seeing her playing Serena in the semis hoping against hope that she could pull the upset and being one of the few to beat both Williams sisters in the same slam. My solace was that at least Angie’s loss was close and very competitive.

Only Maria reaching the QFs, saved this tournament for me.. :)

I think you did not read the post complained about carefully. Yes Angie just lost to Sara in this tournament in the fourth round; but the poster was clearly referring to the FO where indeed it was a QF match between Kerber and Errani.

Seriously guys; what about Vinci and Errani (though neither one of them will probably make it past Serena).

Don't they brighten the US Open, even if they could of/did beat your fave (and you're not Italian)? :)

Yep.......after Kvitova capitulated last night in absolutely disgusting fashion, Martic, Venus, Sabine and Barthel earlier, I am done. Don't care who wins the tourney.

No. Both are beginning to get on my nerves. :shout:
No. Seriously. "Ruined" maybe not, because I don´t really expect anything. I just don´t care very much about the remaining players and so I don´t really care about the Us Open 2012 anymore.

Sorry about Laura and Angelique.

As far as Petra, when you lose in the crazy fashion she did, what can you say?

Something musta been up, so you just move on with bemusement. :)

Yeah, Errani and Vinci don't make up for it. But they're nice to watch (I know you're not feeling the Errani part over Kerber though).

I know how it feels, though I'm still fairly happy this year! except for the bottom half which is now shit - all the top players other than Serena are in the other half.

Look on the bright side: Laura's career is just at the beginning, you have years of fandom ahead! she had a great tournament which she can build on.

Kvitova, well sorry but I've never been a fan so I can't comment except I'm sure she'll be back.

As for Kerber, not keen on her at all but wouldn't wish her any particular ill.

Hope that helps a little.

Kinda. Mine was done after.. get this... day 2! Lol almost all my favorite women's players: Hantuchova, Petkovic, Lisicki, Görges, Oudin, and then McHale loses on Day 2. Not a good US Open for me, at least on the women's side. I'm still holding strong for Sharapova and Ivanovic, maybe they can win it. Let's hope!

Serena won 6-0 x2 today so I don't see what the problem is.

Who knew that Wayne Rooney posted on TF?

Today was a lousy day, with the last three faves losing. I didn't have much hope for Pironkova, but I thought that at least Kerber or ARad would make it to the SF.

Would like to see Vika win it all -- she doesn't get the credit she deserves.

Well, Nadal pulled out. Venus lost to Kerber again after being up 4-2 in the third...which I could live with...that was until Kerber lost to Errani today! I really don't think Venus would've lost to Errani!!

Venus and Serena's doubles match wasn't aired on Sky Sports on Friday night (I stayed in to watch it) They played highlights of Robson's win over Li TWICE instead!! Now, I've stayed up to watch their doubles match and there's a rain delay!!

Hopefully they'll still win though and Serena will march on in her next singles match!
