I'm so happy for Su-Wei and AMG :cheer:

Su-Wei was playing very well and Anabel definitely stepped up when needed, like she ate some Spanish pepper  :yeah:.

first 2 servicegames in 2nd set Su-Wei and Anabel had breakpoints but couldn't convert and then didn't hold serve anymore in 2nd set.. so happy they came back in 3rd.

Played a good match. Not good tennis, but a good match. Lisa was so disgusted with Liezel towards the end of that 3rd set. Not sure I see this team playing together in 2013. Liezel really brought them down at the end.

As per usual they have chances to break, don't and then get broken themselves the next game:lol:

Liezel was so disappointing in the end of the third.

Anabel/Su-Wei were very good. Some great lobbing.

If Anabel could find a permanent partner she could be ranked much higher.

Lisa needs to be ruthless and ditch Bitchface. If not Bitchface will start blaming her for their dip in form...

They needed so much self-motivation in their first round match. I was rooting them on for every point in the third set. I don't even like Liezel but I found myself even rooting her on. A person next to me actually thanked me for rooting them on, she had lost faith in them at the end of the second set.
I also don't think they get as much support as they should.

THEY ARE THE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS.

You put them on court 4 and court 17 but Venus and Serena on Grandstand and Arthur Ashe?
They couldn't play one match on Grandstand before the quarters?

I think the American crowds would have rooted them on at Grandstand.
Half of the people who stay at those other courts for early matches usually are the most misinformed tennis fans you can get, 8 out of 10 of them didn't even know that liezel/lisa were the number one players in the world.

She'll wait until the year ending championship at the earliest likely.
I think she should really beg Bryan for one more shot at the Aussie Open to get the box set in doubles.
After that then she can focus back on doubles.

Very disappointing third set from Liezel AGAIN. Double faulting twice at 3-3 is inexcusable for the '#1" player in the world.

Lisa needs to drop kick Liezel to the curb and get a younger power player for 2013.

Well played by the other team who found a way back into the match when momentum had swung hard in the other direction.

I said the same thing. It should be Mike because a) they have great chemistry and b) Bob and Lisa are both better on Deuce so it doesn't really work. I don't care about doubles next year, just get that Aussie Mixed! You can lose every match in WD next season so long as you get that Aussie Mixed title finally.

Best result of the entire tournament for me, so far.

I am so thrilled for Su-wei and Anabel - it's been too long since both of them have been in a Grand Slam doubles QF, and they totally earned their place today. Great all around play, and great fight when facing those 3 BPs at *2-3. The entire match had some amazing points.

I hope they can reach the SF now, they'll have a chance against both Kerber/Paszek and Chuang/Zhang.

Serena and Venus are what people want to see not Huber/Raymond--sorry, the simple truth.

Liezel said after New Haven that she's been suffering from ruptured cysts since the Olympics and has been taking codeine for it every day. She said she believes it's her body telling that she needs to have children soon before it's too late.

Oh no. She said during the Australian that she was supposed to retire this year because she wanted to start a family, but felt like she still wanted to play 2013 with Lisa. Now that seems to be out the door. I hope she can have children. (And no one better dare be cold about this situation.)

Can't say I'm bummed over this loss at all; after getting the bronze I could care less about any of Lisa's losses  I do hope Lisa partners someone new next year, preferably Vesnina. I think Liezel has just completely run out of gas and motivation. Personally I'm not fond of Liezel, but if she does leave this year, I hope people can be a little more gracious and respectful. I mean, just take it easy on the hate people.

On the other hand, congrats to Sara! :rocker2:

she's been involved in a few "moody" reactions that were assimilated to cheating, intimidating , bad sportmanship , this kind of stuff..

Was Huber that horrible at the end? That's so unlike her. It's interesting how things turn around. After dominating the tour from this time last year to early this year, they've had a mediocre slam season. But Lisa's mixed doubles successes (her 11th slam title and 1st Olympic medal) have still made this an excellent year. For Liezel it's been her worst season since 2006.

If Lisa does need a new partner it better not be Vesnina. She can't afford to lose finals.

There is no explanation beyond they're mad a 30+ doubles specialist has been kicking their faves' asses for so many years.
