View Full Version : Ivanovic is always "back from injury"!

It is really strange and annoying.
In all media in Switzerland and germany,
especially all commentators always say that Ivanovic comes back from injury. They said this last year all the time,
this year all the time.

I really don't understand this.
It seems that they wanted her to be better, to be in the Top 10 and to be so called "BACK" one day.

But she plays nearly the whole 2011 and 2012,
is ranked between 11 and 20 where she actually belongs.

She lost poorly and without any chance to Azarenka at Wimbledon.
Without an injury.

She's a nice player and probably it has also to do with her good looks,
but it is unbelievable and annoying how anybody always says she is "back from injury".

I understand that she lost to Vinci in Montreal and had probably a little injury, but that's not what all those journalists and commentators mean because they said at Wimbledon and every other slam before too.

Ana is one of those players who has been plagued with injuries. Most of which of seem to come just when she has seemed to be finding some decent form again. So she has had several set backs. A lot of players on the tour have the same problem. In Ana's case she seems to pick up nicks here and there and in order to avoid extremely lengthy times away from the tour her camp addresses those issues right away by allowing her to recover as quick as she possible can.

You have players like Ana who pick up nagging injuries along the way and then you have players like Sabine who tends to pick up worse injuries along the way. It varies in different degrees but it happens throughout a tennis players career whether they let us know about it or not. Just look at the careers of Venus, Serena & Kim and the part that injuries have played in all of their careers. As hard as these women play, most of them are nursing some form of injury.

You see all of the tape on players that they never discuss. I play tennis and I feel things even from my level of play so I know how much more these hard working ladies are affected. The difference is that you have commentators who actually acknowledge the fact that a player has been injured and you have some who continuously overlook the fact that a player is injured. The fact remains that injuries are as big a part of the tour as rivalries, if not bigger.

She does seem to pick up an awful lot of small injuries over the course of a season, particularly in recent years. It can't be easy trying to get your game together when you are perpetually hurt. Lisicki is another player that has this problem.

:spit: but yeah continuously referring to thumb injuries is so old and grating, just like when Bradnam always reminds us how she started her career in swimming pool

I've never heard of a tennis facility in a old pool in Serbia. She probably practiced in some old pool, but I highly doubt it was converted in a "tennis facility". And that story is so  and overrated.

Even if you were right on the facts, I am afraid Ana's version is the accepted one in tennis chronicles from Serbia.

This is also in Ana'ss Wiki entry

Please show me that video.

One is "tennis facility" and something completely other is a tennis court made inside old pool  It's not like someone made three courts inside some olympic size pool and started a club
