H2H is 1-1, but they haven't played since 2008, when, remarkably Tsveti won in 3 sets on clay.
WWW US Open 4R: [12] Ivanovic vs. PironkovaPurple_Rain Sep 2nd, 2012, 01:56 AM H2H is 1-1, but they haven't played since 2008, when, remarkably Tsveti won in 3 sets on clay. Tennis Fool Sep 2nd, 2012, 01:57 AM This match is gonna be way worse than the matches these two played today :help: The 2nd Law Sep 2nd, 2012, 01:59 AM I have nfi about this one. I feel like Pironkova's bh will give Ana fits, and she served well today whereas Ana could have been much better. Please Ana  Lazyking Sep 2nd, 2012, 02:01 AM Hopefully Ana but neither are beating Serena sadly. Ana needs a QF appearance bad though after this rough year. tennisbear7 Sep 2nd, 2012, 02:03 AM Please, this is Ana we're talking about. She's losing 62 63. FedererBulgaria Sep 2nd, 2012, 02:03 AM Tsveti to become GrassHardGOAT GrassGOAT Sep 2nd, 2012, 02:06 AM Pironkova 6-1 6-1 :haha: She's in GOAT mode again, maybe she'll even pull a Vinci.... :p hobahobaspirit Sep 2nd, 2012, 02:53 AM One of the worst FH on tour VS One of the worst BH on tour :hearts: TeamUla Sep 2nd, 2012, 02:55 AM Ana :hearts: Go! faboozadoo15 Sep 2nd, 2012, 02:57 AM Has there been a worse 4th rd match in recent memory? The thought of either in the QF is gross. Michalka Sep 2nd, 2012, 04:29 AM Has there been a worse 4th rd match in recent memory? The thought of either in the QF is gross. well the recent worst ones i could think of was the 2009 US Open, you had Oudin vs Wozniacki and Wickmayer vs Bondarenko, and they were all QF matches Ivanovic in 2 Purple_Rain Sep 2nd, 2012, 04:52 AM Has there been a worse 4th rd match in recent memory? The thought of either in the QF is gross. Yes, several in the last four Slams: Wimby: Radwanska vs. Giorgi FO: Kvitova vs. Lepchenko FO: Kanepi vs. Rus USO 11: Petkovic vs. Suarez Navarro USO 11: Niculescu vs. Kerber Although it defines how you define "bad." Ana-Tsveti will be filled with errors but also crushed forehands, big serves, ajdes and momentum swings, and it is likely to be a competitive match. Spring Pools Sep 2nd, 2012, 04:53 AM Tsvetana is three choked sets Yashal Sep 2nd, 2012, 06:11 AM Let's watch Tsvetana wasting this opportunity :oh: andyjason Sep 2nd, 2012, 06:37 AM Go Pironkova, Beat that Ivanovic!!! koyak Sep 2nd, 2012, 06:50 AM 'Say "V", say "I",say "P", come on and say VIP!' VIP in 2. Pops Maellard Sep 2nd, 2012, 06:56 AM Please Ana :sobbing:. Julian. Sep 2nd, 2012, 06:57 AM Pironkova :oh: TZVETI83 Sep 2nd, 2012, 08:07 AM Pironkova VS Ivanovic is a mouth watering match especially if both play well, probably the best looking match in this tournament!!! I am rooting but Tzveti but good luck to both. Светльо Sep 2nd, 2012, 08:38 AM Please, please, please flop to her it will be just so hilarious. :sobbing: It won't happen, Pironkova doesn't have it in her mentally to win this. FedererBulgaria Sep 2nd, 2012, 09:03 AM Please, please, please flop to her it will be just so hilarious. :sobbing: It won't happen, Pironkova doesn't have it in her mentally to win this. Cause Tsveti never been in QF and was the only one who took a set from Kvitova, plus Tsveti has nothing to lose,so Ana can has real problems here Alarmed Sep 2nd, 2012, 09:05 AM It would be hilarious if Ana managed to lose this match, but I actually doubt that it will happen. I actually think it won't even be close. Antoshka Sep 2nd, 2012, 09:10 AM Ana in 2 of course DemiCrayanhan Sep 2nd, 2012, 09:13 AM ana's forehand gifts her the privilege of being crushed by serena. fun times. Sombrerero loco Sep 2nd, 2012, 09:25 AM vip will win, but i hope that pironkova could win this somehow!! evana Sep 2nd, 2012, 09:40 AM if Ana manages to somehow lose this match, I guess she'll never make a QF again  :sobbing: Mr.Sharapova Sep 2nd, 2012, 09:56 AM Ivanovic to reach her first QF in a slam in 4 years :yeah:. I can't at Pironkova winning more than 1 match in hard courts http://i931.photobucket.com/albums/ad151/Milot_Sheremeti/tumblr_m7dr98QetR1rri77io1_400.gif Pavstry. Sep 2nd, 2012, 09:58 AM Save the SEWTA, Tsveti. :cheer: GoofyDuck Sep 2nd, 2012, 10:10 AM Please Tsveti Cp6uja Sep 2nd, 2012, 10:16 AM I think that betting odds are with reason 1.25-1.30 on Ana and 3.50-4.00 on Tsveti. Cp6uja Sep 2nd, 2012, 10:33 AM Btw Ana beat yesterday Sloane Stephens WTA#44, and since 2010 that is Ana's 14th win against WTA TOP44 girls on this outdoors fast HC surface (where belong all tournaments USO series, Beijing and Tokyo). I count only events since 2010 because its unfair to count for Ivanovic wins during hers better era when she is for example one year overall winner of USO series, and also when achieve on this surface even couple titles like Montreal and Los Angeles. On other hand Pironkova since 1987 (when she is born) never beat at all this events with this-like surface any WTA TOP44 opponent! Sloane Stepens is just 19yo but she already beat in last two weeks two such opponents, and even last season when she is out of TOP100 she beat on this surface 3 TOP44 opponents, so I'm pretty sure that Ana already survive yesterday hers biggest challenge before QF showdown vs Serena. Talula Sep 2nd, 2012, 12:41 PM Im actually really looking forward to this match and think it should be fascinating! I'm routing for Ana, I really want to see her build her career again. StoneRose Sep 2nd, 2012, 12:46 PM Didn't think Ana played that well against Stephens but i hope she'll win this one. She's definitely favorite to do so. Tennisvampire Sep 2nd, 2012, 12:56 PM I think Ana will get her act together after yesterday's hard win against Stephens... Anyway, with Pironkova playing those slices, Ana should have enough time to run around the ball and play her beloved forehand, but then again, balls with low bounces could pose a slight problem to her. Anyway, I just don't see Pironkova winning this one  So, my pick: Ivanovic in two well-fought sets  Viktymise Sep 2nd, 2012, 01:40 PM Grassonkova to take out the trash. Adrian1092 Sep 2nd, 2012, 01:48 PM Ana will tank this match just so she doesn't get a beatdown by Serena  @danieln1 Sep 2nd, 2012, 02:09 PM How the hell Pironkova won 3 matches outside grass???? This girl cant win outside grass. Anyway, hopefully her junk wont give Ivanovic any trouble, but I can see this match getting ugly, is all up to Ana really. Geo33 Sep 2nd, 2012, 03:17 PM Ana didnt win that match as Sloane lost it and Pironkova is looking stronger and I expect her to win...that said, is she a QF player ??? NO WAY. Go Tvetsi  keithb1961 Sep 2nd, 2012, 03:26 PM I hope that Tsveti wins, but even if she doesnt, she is still the hottest girl on tour  http://i46.tinypic.com/34pav5l.jpg hingisGOAT Sep 2nd, 2012, 04:25 PM I kind of like Pironkova's personality and playing style. I hope she wins, mostly because Ana will just bend over for her opponent in the QFs. At least Pironkova will put up a fight... Israel Sep 2nd, 2012, 06:22 PM It's unbelievable that one of them will be in a grand slam QF in 2012. I mean Pironkova didn't even win that much in Wimbledon this year and Ivanovic ate 2 bagels on one the USO series hardcourt. Anyways I'm rooting for Ana and she'll probably win because she has the bigger game. Stonerpova Sep 2nd, 2012, 06:57 PM Ajde :sobbing: FedererBulgaria Sep 2nd, 2012, 07:36 PM This match is on the Center Court :))) tennisfan146 Sep 2nd, 2012, 07:44 PM I think Ana will win. Having said that Pironkova is a tricky opponent, who could cause her some serious troulble, when playing well. DefyingGravity Sep 2nd, 2012, 08:51 PM I hope Ana proves me wrong, but it's most likely the end of the road for her. keithb1961 Sep 3rd, 2012, 03:13 PM Go Tsveti Go :cheer: Horizon Sep 3rd, 2012, 03:30 PM Ana didnt win that match as Sloane lost it and Pironkova is looking stronger and I expect her to win...that said, is she a QF player ??? NO WAY. Go Tvetsi  :spit: angelabarnes38 Feb 5th, 2013, 11:17 AM I really thought there was a chance that Ivanovic was going to take down Serena, but boy was she overmatched! I'm happy to see Serena heading to the finals as she nears the end of her career, especially at such a special tournament to her. She loves the tennis surfaces (http://www.plexipave.com/tennis/plexipave.html) at the US Open, and I think it would be a really nice story if she can beat Maria. Not the easiest task in the world!
