Looking lethargic and not putting in much energy, still: 20 winners to 5 UEs. Nice.

Let's hope she meets Silliams in the Semis...in that case it will be Kerber 5 : Villiams+Silliams 0...

Venus would have won 60 60

well done Angie for getting out of the trap after the early break in 2nd set...

very focused

but I think Olga just felt dizzy so the vic is meaningless for Kerbis next match against Sara. Let's see if the Italian's clay dominance left some footprints in the German's mind.

Refreshing to see a player so consistently focused throughout matches lately :) and to those fools calling Kerber a pusher, how does a 20 W to 5 UE ratio in a blowout sound? Kerber knows what she has to do in matches, if she has the opportunity to take initiative, she will. Against the top-ranked big hitters, she plays a counterpunching but opportunistic game because she obviously can't outhit them, so why would she try to? Her counterpunching style has brought her incredible victories and results this year, so she should just keep doing what she's doing. Of course she should still try to improve her game, serve especially. If she beefed up her serve even a little bit she'd really be a force to be reckoned with.

Yes overall not the most convincing performance despite the scoreline. Luckily she had the Govortsova match today after the big Venus match, which must have been physically and mentally exhausting. Errani seems to have found her rhythm after that shitshow against Mug. Hopefully Kerber can pull through, but I expect a very tough match.

Super efficient performance from Kerber. I was impressed with how solidly she played, and an extremely impressive 20winners to just 5 UEs are numbers to be proud of. Govortsova was no where in this match, even after a check up from the Doc. Kerber is as solid and reliable as Radwanska and 2011 Wozniacki, but she also can be aggressive when she needs to and is not just a pusher.

I'm also fascinated that she plays leftie but signs her name with her right hand! I'm hoping to see a Kerber/Serena semi. Serena on form will win, but Kerber could drive her nuts :) :)

Venus would have won 60 60

This is actually a very amusing comment that I do not know how to respond properly. That in of itself is unusual for me.

Well done. Definitely no fluke.:cheer:

Angie's consistency is absolutely amazing. Her wins in the past year have been incredible. Who else can say they've beaten 6 different slam champions in a 6 months time frame? So proud of her. She really reminds me of a female Nadal. Never gives up on a point and knows how to get everything back with interest.

Player hits a would-be amazing winner and she gets it back in the court right on the baseline somehow.

I hope she wins the tournament. Go Angie!

Angie :yeah:

Angie , her 56th win in 2012 , this is the highest number of all german tennis players after Steffi Graf, but higher then Petkovic or Huber ever did.

Sep 2nd, 2012, 07:55 AM
Keep this up Angie! :yeah:

Sep 2nd, 2012, 12:12 PM
nice one :)

on a sidenote, have govortsova's lips always looked like that or was she inspired by lana del rey?

Sep 2nd, 2012, 12:44 PM
Nice win by Kerber. It's funny/odd that all the girls with Polish background are allmost at the end spectrum of defensive players.

Sep 2nd, 2012, 01:12 PM
:yeah:. Errani next though :scared::spit:.

^ So?

It's not like Errani has slayed giants on her way to her first USO 4th round - she is there thanks to her "clay dividend".

Who said Errani would present any trouble to Kerber? I put this :spit: after my comment...

Kerber was never going to lose this, and probably isn't going to lose the next round.

Sep 2nd, 2012, 06:52 PM
Crazy good.

Avenge the FO loss please :yeah:
