Who will win?
WWW USO 4R: [3]Maria Sharapova vs. [19]Nadia PetrovaJulian. Aug 31st, 2012, 08:57 PM Who will win? 18majors Aug 31st, 2012, 09:05 PM Maria, but I hope Petra plays competitively to prepare Maria for QF. NashaMasha Aug 31st, 2012, 09:07 PM night session? cellophane Aug 31st, 2012, 09:07 PM Maria, but I hope Petra plays competitively to prepare Maria for QF. Petrova? misty1 Aug 31st, 2012, 09:09 PM the H2H is really 8-0 for maria and nadia has barely gotten sets off her. Its really hard to imagine nadia winning this one. Mana Aug 31st, 2012, 09:10 PM I'm pretty excited about this. Although their matches usually turn into totalshitfests, and Masha wins on mental strength alone, they've had some epic battles. 2005 US Open QF for example Masha won 75 46 64. Good luck Nadia. Love the cattyness in this match up. justineheninfan Aug 31st, 2012, 09:17 PM Nadia always found ways to lose in this matchup even in her prime. It would be a miracle if any other result than a Maria win occured. Sammo Aug 31st, 2012, 09:23 PM Petrova? Petra Petrova sowhatnow Aug 31st, 2012, 09:24 PM Sharapova 62 62 She does everything better than Petrova except volleying (which doesn't really matter cause Petrova never made it to the net against Maria in the first place). Even serveless Sharapova beat her three times in a row in 2009. Given how Sharapova served these past 3 rounds it should be the usual beatdown. Yashal Aug 31st, 2012, 09:25 PM I think Mary, but hopefully Nadia. PhilePhile Aug 31st, 2012, 09:45 PM Remember this ... YGyZ336NME8 Nadia was 0-4 vs. Kim. Pump-it-UP Aug 31st, 2012, 09:58 PM One of the most NID matchups on tour. Even if Maria's serve goes :cuckoo:, I can't see Nadia taking advantage. Maria 7-5 6-4 in a shitfest Roookie Aug 31st, 2012, 10:01 PM I'm glad Naughtya is still around winning here and there but go Maria :cheer: dsanders06 Aug 31st, 2012, 10:01 PM Even though everyone on this board back in 2009 for some reason seemed to think Petrova always rolled over when she played Maria, she actually usually plays her pretty tough (their Stanford match in 2009 is the only one where she didn't really show up at all). I can see Petrova serving well enough to maybe pinch a set on a tiebreak, but hopefully Maria should pull it out. Hopefully facing such a good server will get her returns ready for if she plays Petra and/or Serena. Xepher Aug 31st, 2012, 10:02 PM Maria in three losing TB in the second Petronius Aug 31st, 2012, 10:12 PM I want Petra to beat Maria in the QF so I hope Sharpie makes it  steni Aug 31st, 2012, 11:05 PM Petra Petrova  Pavstry. Aug 31st, 2012, 11:10 PM  Shonami Slam Aug 31st, 2012, 11:13 PM when i saw the draw i had a nice feeling about NIDia's chances for a qf, and ill stick to it. Mr.Sharapova Aug 31st, 2012, 11:17 PM Maria in two hopefully. Petrova should be a challenge which is good for Maria, she needs to be challenged before she goes on top face Petra or Vika. LindsayRulz Sep 1st, 2012, 02:13 AM Nadia is so much weaker mentally than Maria and she's gonna find a way to screw it up in each sets. Maria in straight. Moo_21 Sep 1st, 2012, 01:45 PM Sharapova in 2 tight sets Vespertine69 Sep 1st, 2012, 02:14 PM Depends which Nadia shows up... usual mentally absent one and it's a NID win for Maria... but if she turns up in a tough-as-nails "only 1 game for you, Kimmie!!!" mode, then I think Nadia in 3. One of these options is of course more likely :p Crux Squall Sep 1st, 2012, 02:38 PM Maria needs to play well to beat Nadia MrsColinKaep Sep 1st, 2012, 02:56 PM not headcase Nadia, that's for sure. the silver medalist, cakewalk-p cakemarches on in 2 sets. shaktincredible Sep 1st, 2012, 04:46 PM not headcase Nadia, that's for sure. the silver medalist, cakewalk-p cakemarches on in 2 sets. i like the way you dislike Maria but always expect her to win (except against vika or serena of course) if Petrova is cakewalk, what about Tatishvili then? :nerner: | |
