Alicia Molik: "It's inevitable that Stosur will reach several Wimbledon finals"BlueTrees Aug 31st, 2012, 03:19 PM :spit: Ivanovic2008 Aug 31st, 2012, 03:25 PM Source? Just Do It Aug 31st, 2012, 03:25 PM ^ Probably live commentary. When? Uranium Aug 31st, 2012, 03:26 PM She has been in 3. 2 Doubles and 1 Mixed. There will be no Singles Finals though. BlueTrees Aug 31st, 2012, 03:28 PM On Fox Sports like 5 mins ago. I rewinded it to make sure I heard correctly :sobbing: Xepher Aug 31st, 2012, 03:29 PM Did she mean Invitational Doubles? Juju Nostalgique Aug 31st, 2012, 03:30 PM  $uricate Aug 31st, 2012, 03:30 PM I want what she's having. TheBoiledEgg Aug 31st, 2012, 03:31 PM she must be on crack :tape: Tenis Srbija Aug 31st, 2012, 03:38 PM http://x.vukajlija.com/var/uploads/reactions/201208/19942/tumblr_lzarqfhtxl1qg63qpo1_250.gif FORZA SARITA Aug 31st, 2012, 03:42 PM retirement did something wrong to Alicia  Maria4Ever Aug 31st, 2012, 03:49 PM Well at least we know she is on the grass and not just an abysmal commentator...mind you I'd hate to see her stone cold sober commentating! spencercarlos Aug 31st, 2012, 03:50 PM What a stupid comment. Game wise (shank wise) there is no way Sam can be confortable playing on grass, plus Sam is not a youngster either, so don´t wait for her to peak for grass anytime soon. Aug 31st, 2012, 04:46 PM She and all the other Aussie commentators are so far up Sam's ass it's not even funny. :tears: Dani12 Aug 31st, 2012, 04:51 PM Alicia has no idea... Huntress55 Aug 31st, 2012, 04:57 PM I know Alicia means well.. but no, just no. Id be happy to just Sam make the second week at this rate. Melange Aug 31st, 2012, 04:58 PM what a shady bitch lenas warriors Aug 31st, 2012, 04:58 PM She and all the other Aussie commentators are so far up Sam's ass it's not even funny. :tears: Not as much as finger licking Sam Smith... Sam had never been beyond R2 of the USO until two years ago and she has now won it (so however ridiculous such quotes seem you never know with Sammy) NashaMasha Aug 31st, 2012, 05:01 PM several Finals? probably she meant several 4th rounds? Sam had never been beyond R2 of the USO until two years ago and she has now won it (so however ridiculous such quotes seem you never know with Sammy) she has a game suitable for fast hard courts, and definitely not suitable for grass .... She is a less grass-courter than Errani hard-courter lenas warriors Aug 31st, 2012, 05:05 PM several Finals? probably she meant several 4th rounds? she has a game suitable for fast hard courts, and definitely not suitable for grass .... She is a less grass-courter than Errani hard-courter I agree- just wouldnt die of shock if she did it, given how unpredictable she is. young_gunner913 Aug 31st, 2012, 05:10 PM She's been hanging out with Hingis too much. le bon vivant Aug 31st, 2012, 05:13 PM She's been hanging out with Hingis too much.Cackle  stromatolite Aug 31st, 2012, 05:25 PM What's really inevitable is that any time anybody (doesn't really matter who) says anything overoptimistic about any player, somebody here will start a thread on it. I mean, who cares, really? BlueTrees Aug 31st, 2012, 05:27 PM What's really inevitable is that any time anybody (doesn't really matter who) says anything overoptimistic about any player, somebody here will start a thread on it. I mean, who cares, really? Given that you're the only person who complained about it, maybe you should take a hint. :) faboozadoo15 Aug 31st, 2012, 05:29 PM What on earth made her say this? Alicia seems to be a reasonable woman. It's tough enough for players whose games are suited to grass-- Davenport, Sharapova, Henin, Clijsters, Bartoli, Lisicki, Kvitova; to make SEVERAL Wimbledon finals. Sam would do well to make another final at RG or USO in her career (very conceivable). Sam relies on spin to get the ball up and away from her opponents, and on grass it just sits there for some BBB to bash it down the court back at her, resulting in a shank. stromatolite Aug 31st, 2012, 05:30 PM Given that you're the only person who complained about it, maybe you should take a hint. :) Take what hint? I never knew there was any rule you have to go with the majority opinion on a thread (this may be news to you of course;)) SilverSlam Aug 31st, 2012, 05:47 PM Guys I'm pretty sure she meant USO, she just said the wrong slam. Alicia said during the fox sports coverage of Wimbledon that she expects Sam to perform better at home than at Wimbledon, just because AO I HC and grass isn't that good for Stosur's weapons. So yeah. Don't think she meant Wimbledon. ExXotikal Aug 31st, 2012, 06:13 PM Hingis must have left some of her good white powder behind back when she was in Australia, looking a kitten heels mess. Israel Aug 31st, 2012, 06:19 PM To be honest Stosur has the game to win ANY slam but it's the head that keeps her away from doing that. It's true that grass is her least best surface but you know, she has power and a nice serve. She fails on that serve because she's not willing to compromise on hitting the flat serve and forehand because of her determination to keep her style of play on every surface, and it's a shame I think. Jane Lane Aug 31st, 2012, 06:21 PM Her 3 most recent losses on grass: Suarez Navarro. Rus. Czink. That is all. jetglo Aug 31st, 2012, 06:24 PM Alicia has no idea... Absolutely! She's shocking. Sammo Aug 31st, 2012, 07:53 PM Alicia honey... I'm a Stosur fan and I think that Sam does SO bad on grass because of the mental factor, I think that a player who has had so much success in doubles in Wimbledon and has made the SF 3 times in Eastbourne should definitely do better in Wimbledon, I don't know something like R3 or R4 as average, but I don't see Sam being capable of making the final at Wimbledon... She has been in 3. 2 Doubles and 1 Mixed. There will be no Singles Finals though. 4 actually, 1 mixed (2008) and 3 doubles (2008, 2009, 2011) Sombrerero loco Aug 31st, 2012, 08:30 PM this is like when bovina said jankovic was top 5 like 3 months ago  justineheninfan Aug 31st, 2012, 08:37 PM Mrs. Molik needs to not do interviews after a huge drunken night out. I have heard she enjoys the good life since her retirement. Sammo Aug 31st, 2012, 08:50 PM Alicia has no idea... She's still miles ahead of Chris Evert though  Kooyong Aug 31st, 2012, 08:52 PM Gottalove an Aussie talking up the Aussies. If Sam can learn to play on grass then she could be a chance. Big service Big forehand Slice backhand Good at the net Sounds like the sort of player that could do well at Wimbledon, even Martina Navratilova has questioned Sam's Wimbledon results and thinks Sam should be competitive. Linguae^ Aug 31st, 2012, 08:57 PM Omg, it can't get worse to say than this, like she's on crack. Serenita Aug 31st, 2012, 08:59 PM http://x.vukajlija.com/var/uploads/reactions/201208/19942/tumblr_lzarqfhtxl1qg63qpo1_250.gif :bigcry: Petronius Aug 31st, 2012, 08:59 PM :haha: kiwifan Aug 31st, 2012, 09:14 PM I honestly thought this was a 10 year old comment that someone pulled up just to have a laugh. :tape: Well I hope Serena is right there with her for each of those Wimbledon finals   . Alizé Molik Sep 1st, 2012, 12:21 AM i dont get why all the aussies are so focussed on wimbledon??? isn't success at 3/4 slams enough? they've never accepted that she will never do anything on grass.e Tensity Sep 1st, 2012, 12:26 AM Maybe she meant doubles and mixed doubles too.. But even then.. LoLex Sep 1st, 2012, 12:33 AM Alicia Molik: "It's inevitable that Stosur will reach several Wimbledon finals" :spit: http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m40gvqSgyb1qlk5kj.gif Anthony. She also says there's no excuse for players to have bad ball tosses, so she's coming for my fave. I will deal. RenaSlam. Sep 1st, 2012, 03:57 AM :tape: I just cannot at this hour. Must be the full blue moon. Vincey! Sep 1st, 2012, 04:09 AM Well I like Alicia but that makes me doubt about her tennis knowledge if she really meant that as in single finals. Even Stosur's serve is less effective on grass cuz it takes away the big advantage on the kick serve. Her groundies having loads of spin on them as well are much more less effective and it's just too quick for her to adjust to the balls. JeMa Sep 1st, 2012, 04:21 AM :spit: I think she is right but in Legends Doubles about 10 years from now. I can see it. claypova Sep 1st, 2012, 04:30 AM Sam? http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/1268/93569817.png Libertango Sep 1st, 2012, 07:06 AM I like the sound of Alicia. I bet she's a riot.
