Well, from a betting point of view, Kiki Bertens is a genuine nighmare.

OMG Kiki :o

Puchkova in R3 of a slam. I can't even laugh, that's just sad.
Why? Have you seen Olga play?

Probably, now, one of the best returners on the tour.

Surely you meant to say "on the ITF circuit" ... ;)

Puchkova was the fave in my opinion  I'm not saying Kiki is bad, but she still has to prove she's not a fluke. Puchkova's played WTA finals against Davenport and Bartoli while Kiki played Pous Tio in hers :help:

Also their playing style can be quite similar, plus Olga called Anna her role model so I always associate Olga with Anna

Funny, I always associated her style with Lucic. Hard, flat hitting, suspect strategy. :o

Puchkova is totally Kournikova  the same amazing groundstrokes, the horrible serve with endless double faults, the modeling (olga was more focused on modelling at some point I believe).

Now we only need to get Vasilisa Bardina back, and it's like 2007 all over again

Good on her.
She plays a bit like Lucic/Pierce
Hard, flat, taller gal, powerful, no plan b....
She had a breakthrough a few years back now, finals of Quebec and then literally fell off the earth, rank as low as 300 i think, so good on her for getting herself back.
I think I read an interview on here from someone who met her and she literally said she was losing matches bc she was partying every night....ha

no more parties maybe??

You sure that wasn't snark from Boiled Egg? Yeah, there was a three year period where she could barely win a match on the ITF tour. But in terms of modeling--well, she isn't the size she used to be for that.

I hope her match vs. Errani gets a show court.

Yeah, WTF Christina McFail. I kind of thought "hmm well this Kiki is one big ass bitch, and she can kind of serve, so maybe she's actually really good" but no, just a terrible loss for Christina

I think both Olga and Kiki have more game than McHale but that's just me.

she was also up in the first set.
she became kinda big, so I found it interesting that finally now she is peaking. She really was a journeywoman the last years. But her backhand is really candy to the eye!!

Kiki :awww:

She said she was disappointed in herself, because she once sgsin was feeling the nerves. She has a always been a nervous and insecure person, she was afraid to get humiliated on court and she had a low self esteem. As she got better she also suffered less from nerves, but today she could only think about: 'Oh, I can reach the third round here (Im playing Puchkova who Ive beated 0 and 2 in Paris), I may not have this chance again' So she was really nervous and because of that she lost. She was sad, because she thought she had left that stage of being nervous behind her.

Really amazing that Olga is in a round 32 at a major. I remember when she was seeded at Wimbledon, then had the back problems.
Her career really needed a week and a half like this

Nope, itīs always nice to see a former TOP 40 player to do well again...itīs sad players like Puchkova, Bovina and Bardina fell to such a huge slump.

This could have been Bovina's run, if Puchkova hadn't beaten her in qualies.

Bardina continues to play in tournies around Denver, but I suspect she won't be making a real attempt at a comeback.
