Poor Lisa. :( Huber was terrible at the end.

Thrilled for Kiri and Nadia though. They both deserve it.

It took an injured Huber for Petrova to not fuck up a big match, but I don't even care. Just so glad she finally won a major SOMETHING in her career. Loved their reactions at the end too :)

If there's any justice in the world, Raymond will win her bronze in mixed. Hopefully Huber gets better soon. I didn't want her to win, but I didn't want to see her get injured either. Stomach injuries are among the worst in tennis.

Kirilenko was so fierce :hearts:

Absolutely the best player on the court in the last two sets. Nadia wasn't bad either.

Well done!
Happy for both but especially for Kirilenko. It would have sucked for her if she lost two bronze medal matches.
Well deserved. :yeah:

Liezel fucking blew both matches. Congrats.

The goal of this partnership was the Olympics and to medal - Failed. Please break up. The misery of watching you lose close match after close match together needs to end for next season.

Lisa:sobbing: She was so sad at the end. Tried her best, constantly set Liezel up try to break the Russians in that second set, but Liezel sucked. And Liezel was being broken in every set hurt them too.

Liezel really screwed Lisa over :sobbing: so devastated for lisa. She worked so hard for this :sobbing:

I am so glad Vania and Slava will be back :cheer:

nadia :woohoo: congrats nadia and masha lite on a medal :yeah:

Won't they ret the USA team?

They both wanted a medal. With the Williams sisters unseeded, the draw was important. Look at Errani/Vinci.
Very good Olympics for Kirilenko, who backed up her Wimbledon form.

YASS!! So happy for Kiri, gurl deserved it. Nadia was so bad in the first set and a half, but really cleaned up her act after. Great stuff. So happy for both of them, really. I love Lisa though, hopefully she wins the mixed bronze. She's a sweetheart.

As for Huber and her "medical time outs":

Who would play with Liezel though? It seems like every player on tour except for Mattek-Sands hates her, and Liezel already dumped her once. Maybe Srebotnik once Peschke retires at the end of the year? I don't see Lisa teaming up with Vesnina either unless she decides to become content with reaching Slam finals and losing.

I do think Huber was legit injured though and we probably won't see her and Raymond play until the US Open. Her serve was much slower in the last set and she wasn't following through on her backhand. Huber isn't known for medical time outs and strategic bathroom breaks. Other forms of cheating, yes lol. But not those.

Same here. Vesnina is always nice to Lisa and compliments her. Plus, Vesnina is what Lisa had said she wants in a partner before teaming with Liezel. A young player who hits hard to set her up to put volleys away.

Srebotnik I don't think likes her either based on 2011 YEC Final. She'll have to find someone.

That's why I want Vesnina to win US Open Mixed:oh:

Also, Lisa/Liezel will keep the #1 ranking for at least 5 more weeks. They have #1 at least until after US Open UNLESS in the event of the small chance that Errani/Vinci win Montreal, Cincinnati, AND New Haven. They will almost certainly lose the #1 by the end of the year though since they have 4850 to defend from the US Open to YEC.

So happy for Nadia and Maria! Maria's reaction was great and I loved their celebration run around the court with their flag. I'm especially happy for Maria, managing to win a Bronze medal after her two losses in the singles. Well done :yeah:

Am soooo happy For Nads (and Makiri)!!!

She must be so happy to have obtained what her mother achieved. Shes already playing pretty well and maybe this could give her an extra nudge to some damage up to the USO...

Finally, they deliver in a real crunch match.

Watch them win the US Open now. I think we are about to witness a 6 month period of Petrova/Kirilenko domination.

Well done ladies, but the best is yet to come :yeah:

Nuria and MJ will keep playing together. Their aim wasn't just the Olympics... they will play, at least, for the rest of the season (if their results are not that bad as they were in London)... but Montreal, Cinci and the US Open are guaranteed
