Carol takes out her former doubles partner in two easy sets.

Mpule is the only player who tried to qualify for main draw who makes it to the second round. Although, there is not one easy main draw opponent here, she can be kind of glad not to have won her final qualifying round, as she would've faced #1 Saikikimbondwe instead then. By coming back from 3-6, 3-5, 30-40, Mpule seals her way through to the semis where she will face former doubles #1 Carol Chan.
