Well, we all know how pitiful Lucie has been on grass, and in major tournaments in general this year. However, surely she can't perform any worse than winning three games against Bertens... we'll see.

First round opponent in singles is Martic (who I see might not be fully fit), then almost guaranteed to be Sharapova. :help:

First round in doubles partnering Cetkovska is against Errani and Vinci, pretty tough opener. The Williams sisters are also in their section of the draw. :rolls:

Any win would be much appreciated, Lucie. Bring a little cheer for us fans, we havn't had much.

Nice title  I'd be happy with a win over Martic and a close match with Sharapova. And a win in doubles :p but thats unlikely

Oh and doubles 4th on court 11 on day one, but no singles.

Doubles on Saturday and Singles on Sunday. :cheer:

Its weird cause Sharapova and Martic are players I dislike the most on whole tour so it would be nice gift for me if she can beat them ( well im happy with win over martic at least, which sound more likely ) :)

Im reading Martic is now officially out and Robson is in...so assumedly Lucie plays her now...She should still win but you know, British player at London Olympics. Whatever.

I'm not sure if losing R1 to schiavone is playing really well, but she had a very good tournament on clay 2 weeks ago. Lucie should win this.

Wert.
Jul 30th, 2012, 01:09 PM
is there a stream?

HowardH
Jul 30th, 2012, 01:10 PM
Must be a stream if David is able to see what is happening... starts a frantic search... incidentally what is Lucy doing out there?

Davodus
Jul 30th, 2012, 01:12 PM
There's no stream, we have 9 olympics channels and 1 is showing it atm. Laura was just slamming winners but Lucie is playing better now.

Wert.
Jul 30th, 2012, 01:14 PM

Davodus

Jul 30th, 2012, 02:15 PM
Oh she lost, surprise !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wert.
Jul 30th, 2012, 02:15 PM
:yeah: Well done.

Now go to Canada and lose. Hopefully she stays in 100 at the end of year.

Davodus
Jul 30th, 2012, 02:18 PM
She had a new Czech outfit on. She hit huge shots to get BPs in that game then just shanked everything when it counted  she shouldve won the set at 4-3 when Robson tried to gift her the match. Thank god grass is over, shes so awful on it.

Wert.
Jul 30th, 2012, 02:27 PM
Believe me she wont do much better on hardcourts too :haha:
And there is a bunch of points to defend in canada.

Get some brains and some pride, it's urgent, Lucie ! I won't be tolerating those shit results and joke of performances much longer... I'm truly becoming more and more a resigned fan... It's getting at times hopeless.

I don't read too much in the loss. She actually didn't play terribly even though this is a match she should have won. But she genuinely hates grass so oh well. She could still have a good hardcourt season in the States.

She says she loves Clay but was unable to get a result at Roland Garros for example... At majors she often goes out against Beatable opponents hopelessly in straight sets in the 1st round... Her joke performances at Majors have to STOP somewhere ! Since a few years, it's always the same with her some good performances overshadowed by a lot of very disappointing and hopeless ones...

Yeah she didnt play bad, just some silly shots and DFs in close situations and obviously return errors which are worse on grass. Lucie + grass + pressure of Olympics = downfall  I think she'll be happy to be back on hardcourt.
