BYE. Reaaally?
No country could find two players willing to play a doubles match?

Either the Sisters or the Czechs.

Because of the July 20 deadline. Bondarenko withdrew and Ukraine doesn't have another representative to play with Katya.

No other nation has two players in the singles draw to field a team that isn't already fielded.

Good draw for the Williams, hopefully an All-American final.

Jankovic/Ivanovic, Wickmayer/Clijsters

And I know it was reported that the Serbians were looking to get in.

Agreed. Thatīs pathetic. I can understand why Clijsters and Wickmayer wouldnīt play doubles with their recent injury problems, but Ana/JJ? Even if they suck at it, itīs not like theyīll be busy with singles long.

Maybe they couldnīt get in as a late replacement, because they werenīt british enough. :tape:

I am upset that Ana/JJ didn't get put into the doubles field.
I'm interested to see how Li's singles prowess translates into doubles but a tricky opener. So they might not be around long.
My prediction
Gold: Williams/Williams
Silver: Makarova/Vesnina
Bronze:Kirilenko/Petrova

Japan really got screwed in this OG

I'm hoping for:
Gold: Williams/Williams
Silver: Pennetta/Schiavone
Bronze: Kirilenko/Petrova

Poor Errani/Vinci got the short end of the stick.
