Friedsam, Gasparyan, Kozlova and Putintseva here
I hope Anett makes another SF, although if she is ranked between 6 and 10 in year end rankings, it would be unfair on the other girls as she doesn't need 25K JEs :) Is it possible for her to pass them up and give them to the 11th player???

Omg her ranking as made a freefall after Roehampton and Wimbledon

She reached R3 in both tourneys but in 2011 she won Roehampton and reached SF's at Wimbledon.

I wonder if Tornado's average results at WJT had anything to do with her not getting a MD wc.

To be fair, she is terribly overranked. I know she did well at juniors, but she did well at very weak ones with high grade.
Tornado is one of the best players of her age, but she isn't (and she wasn't) so ahead of the rest of top players born in 1998. She played two tournaments in europe at the begining of the year and she lost both finals.
WJT results weren't bad, she only lost a match. Yes, she wasn't that dominant on other matches, but the results were good.
Maybe is better for her, if she can cement the hype with some solid results at the Q, she is very young, and there's no rush

LightsOut!

Also who is Erina Hayashi and why did she get a wildcard?

Every year the Japanese high school champion gets a QWC for US Open (2011-Yuki Ito, 2010-Miharu Imanishi, 2009-Misa Eguchi, 2008-Chinami Ogi, 2007-Chinami Ogi, etc). Not sure what USTA gets out of the arrangement.

Playing juniors till 18 is generally a mistake (at least the girl is a late bloomer) but going to pro tournaments too soon, can be a great mistake too

Petra is probably still injured :awww: Either that or it's a pretty bad/surprising loss :o

Saw the second set since she was playing next to Ana. She didn't look injured, I just think she's very overhyped. she had no power on her groundstrokes and a terrible serve.

BlueTrees: It is surprising as this girl is quite unknown, but I think that Uberalova is overranked. I know she beat some good players but does she have any Top 10 wins  I don't think she does and it is pretty stuffed up if someone is number 6 in the World without a Top 10 win  But still, I like her very much as a person and her game is very good to watch :)

Who cares about Top 10 wins if she defeated 5 players with multiple 10k/25k titles in 1 torunament?

Then she should probably withdraw from the tournament if she's '100%' not healthy. I mean you said she's not healthy based on logic, a reasonable one but there's a poster who said s/he saw the match live and thought otherwise, if you go by logic I think what s/he said would be most credible.

I don't get what they are doing with the juniors. It hasn't been raining since 4 hours now and no single junior matches have been played. Looks like they've cancelled the single again today, but this time way too early for no reason. Also there was surely some junior matches that could have been added to the schedule in that time. I'm sure there're juniors that are not still in double that could have played their 2nd rd single at least.

Petra said on facebook that her shoulder was bothering her. No idea about the weapons comment cause the matches I've seen of her, she was dictating the match.

And about being overranked, she has beaten players with multiple ITF titles MULTIPLE times. This is her third junior grand slam I believe and she has barely played any seasons on the junior tour fully healthy. I think this is the most she has played without being injured.
