Well, I think she should play singles and mixed. There is no point really in playing doubles there. Who else is playing doubles from Germany?

Görges/Petkovic,but it is not sure if Petkovic will participate. It would make sense if Lisicki and Görges, the two best german doubles players play together and then have a chance to win a medal

I think you are right. I thought that ALG qualified for Olympics doubles but it seems she will not be there. Angie has never been successful doubles player, but if she desperately wants to play doubles, I'm not going to complain. She's not playing any tournaments before Olympics. I'm sure she's going to be fit enough to handle this.

I have to agree. In 2011 and 2012 combined she played 17 doubles matches. Of which she won 6. Most notably reaching R3 in Wimbledon 2011 (with McHale). But still, it remains to be seen if the pairing of Kerber/Lisicki makes any sense. They have never ever played a doubles match together. But then again, Becker and Stich never liked each other, never played doubles together, only to win Olympic gold in doubles. And Lisicki last year had never played doubles with Stosur, only to win their very first tournament in Stuttgart and make the final of their second tournament in Wimbledon. So, who knows, it might all work out. :)

First round is tough but overall it's not a bad draw. Would be interesting to see her against Azarenka in quarterfinal.

Omg :scared: I still have bad memories after that Wimbledon semifinal when she was clearly too nervous and couldn't play on her normal level. I hope she won't feel any pressure tomorrow as she's not the favourite.

In my opinion she was just very tired in last match against Radwanska in Wimby SF :)

Today it was incredible match with twists and all we wanted to see ;) ... Fantastic victory over 5 times Wimbledon Champion & 3 times Gold Medalist. Unbelievable...

I'm not a person, who is expecting too much, so I just still can't believe what SHE IS DOING !!! :aparty:

Tomorrow I won't be disappointed if she will lose ... Azarenka is top class... but I have obviously my hopes. Come Oooon !!!

She was tired, I agree. But still, I think she was a bit nervous. Even not feeling well physically she could have won that match imo. She's just much better than Agnieszka.

Well, she put up a good fight but she made too many UE, especially after Azarenka's returns.. she was too late on these shots. But quarterfinal is a good result and Olympics are not that important after all, she has a chance to earn much more money & pts in the US series.

Anyway, I'm proud of her.
