Great match by Lisa except 5-4 onwards in the second and 2-1 serving in the third.

Lisa/Mike led 5-3 in the second and were close to getting MP on Paes' serve, but couldn't. Then Mike got broken for I believe the first time in the WHOLE EVENT at 5-4. Then Vesnina/Paes got it 7-5. Lisa/Mike broke for 1-0 on Paes' serve and then held it until 2-1 where Lisa got broken in a very long game saving 2 BPs. But they got the break again for 4-3 and Lisa held a clutch game to make it 5-3. Another tight game on Paes' serve, but he held. Mike was able to redeem himself and hold to love for the title!!!!

First slam for Lisa AND Mike in NINE years. Amazing from Lisa. First Doubles Slam at last year's USO in 6 years and now first Mixed slam in 9 years and slam later. Amazing.

Lisa/Mike have won 2002 US Open, 2003 Roland Garros and now 2012 Wimbledon together! Now get that Aussie Mixed!!!!

Still no slam for Vesnina:hug:

Lisa was tight in the end of the second along with Mike. But Lisa was so CLUTCH passing Paes in the end of the third and putting sitters away in the last game. Amazing.

Go win the US Open Mixed, Vesnina, only if Venus doesn't enter.

Amazing way to hold her nerve after the end of the second set! Many congratulations to Lisa- truly a deserved champion! I hope they can medal at the Olympics.

I am highly doubtful that Serena will play mixed given that she will go deep in both singles and mixed. I think it will be the Bryan Brothers with Lisa and Liezel

Well played by Vesnina! She returned much better than Leander today.

Serena playing 15 matches in 8 or 9 days is very unlikely. Lisa/Mike have definitely booked their spot though.:cheer:

 So happy. 11th slam and first at Wimbledon in 11 years.

Lisa was MVP for sure.

Poor Vesnina.

Serena won't play all 3 events. It would jeopardise her chances in the other two, where she is a strong favourite for both and where she is her strongest.

Congrats to Bryan and Raymond! :yeah:

Paes was horrible. :o He really let Lena down.
She was amazing at times. I wish there were two Vesninas instead of a Vesnina and a Paes out there.
I hope she gets a slam soon, she deserves it.

I only watched the third set, but from what I saw, the women were better than men on both teams. The guys could barely keep the ball in play while the girls showed some clutch plays in key moments.
If Leander plays like this in the Olympics, all that drama with him and Sania will be meaningless because Sania will not carry him the way Vesnina did here. Vesnina is a better doubles player and I suspect she is the true reason her team made it to the final. Who might she team up with for the Olympics? I would like to see her and Youzhny who is a pretty good doubles player himself.
Anyway, congrats to Lisa and Mike.

I'm not a Vesnina fan, but I'm actually really crushed for her that she's still slamless.

Paes was horrible tonight those missed returns off Raymond's serve :tape:
they had their chances in the third set but couldn't make it
the first service break in the final set was fatal (triggered by an easy error from Vesnina at 30-0 up)

I hope she gets a slam soon, she deserves it.

I've seen 3 of Elena's GS finals and her partner always lets her down. Vera 3 years ago here. Bhupathi here last year.

There already are two Vesninas. One that is a great doubles player. Then there is the one that plays singles, aka Shanksina.

Wish I could've seen this, but agree with the general consensus about Vesnina :awww:

Both she and Leander were great against Vika and Max (fun, fun match) and from the parts that I saw against Liezel and Bob. Hope she'll get her Slam soon. Congrats to Lisa and Mike :yeah:

I thought 3rd set in mixed doubles was a super tie break of 10 points?

This is the USA Mixed Doubles team, unless the USTA lose their minds.

I was really impressed with Elena's racquet skills, she was getting pummeled at but stood her ground :yeah:

Sad for Vesnina, but really happy for Raymond/Bryan. Wish those two would play together more often!
