First week of "Young Stars" tour :)
Would be nice if USTA could send a team in the future...
Jokic vs Hon R1

Oh my god Priscilla's draw

I wonder if a few girls like Tomic and Birell declined this trip.

EDIT: Also what are these seedings based on? Hon helped Australia to win the asian u/14 teams.

Very interesting tournament, unfortunately is the same week of spanish u14 championship.
Cristina Bucsa changed the spanish championship for this tournament, good move (she is not spanish yet, so she couldn't be selected for european championship even winning the spanish tournament).
Good luck Cristina

Seedings must be done by some committee, not even European girls are seeded by TE rankings.
Birrell ended up with a LL and beat the #3 seed :p
All the Aussie girls had to play qualifying, no idea why.

Oh ok thanks. Shame, Priscilla could have gone deep.

Also I guess Inglis got in after Tomic declined then :)

No idea how they ranked and seeded the players. Many of them do not have European rankings but being placed in the main draw. Those Chinese players being beaten by Tomic & Hon were placed in the main draw without playing qualifying matches. Very strange! Jokic won the Eddie herr 12's in 2010. Super- consistent at base-line. She can neutralize any powerful balls to her opponent. Hon handled not too well for most of the critical points. Otherwise, she would have a chance to win. Still doing well in her double.

Zhuck is on fire this week, now i understand why Cristina lost. At least she is alive on the consolation draw, today she defeated Hon in three sets

I think Fridman will be the clear favourite to win the european championship, with Galfi and Payola as her main rivals. But 1998 top girls seems to have more or less the same level so anything could happen

Thanks guys. That's good for her. Probably Warsaw can provide her much better training facilities than any city in Romania. I hope she'll play under the Romanian flag forever, though
