Of course. Because reading 2-3 posts in this thread made me think it's a shame to eat pork meat? What is the difference between pork and lamb or chicken for example? Meat is meat ... if you are not Muslim, that is a different story then.

Some anthropologists think that Jewish and Muslim religions banned pork because they discovered how bad it was for your health, but they labeled it as some random religious shit so that people would take it more seriously. But facts are facts, pork is one of the worst meats out there, it's full of toxins and fats. Meats are very different from each other.

Islam simply teaches that Pork is impure and harmful to our health because Pigs eat anything including feces.
Because of that, Muslims can't own and domesticate pigs or have any benefit from them.

Consumption of pork and products made from pork is strictly forbidden in Islam.

The origin of this belief is derived from the chapter of the Cow (Al Baqara) speaks of this:

"He has only forbidden you what dies of itself, and blood, and flesh of swine, and that over which any other (name) than (that of) Allah has been invoked; but whoever is driven to necessity, not desiring, nor exceeding the limit, no sin shall be upon him; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful."

— Qur'an, Sura 2 (Al-Baqara), ayat 173

I was curious because my neighbor is recently vegan(he was vegetarian before) because he read a book about how badly animals are treated. I asked him if he would eat eggs if he raised the chickens himself and he said yes. But what you're saying completely makes sense.

And about the bolded part, my friends sister drinks alcohol but doesn't eat pork. Very interesting.

Weird I was just talking about this with my best friend who is Muslim.

I have a question, if your friend raises a pig and you're sure it doesn't eat it's feces or anything like that, would you eat it?

A Muslim friend of mine once told me that it was because using the 'halal' way to kill animals (i.e. cutting across several large arteries and veins in the neck and letting out the blood), the anatomy of the pig doesn't allow all the blood to flow out, so it is retained inside and thus considered dirty. I'm not sure if this is true though.

Pigs were also considered dirty in the Old Testament of the Bible though - see Leviticus, that infamous book.

I wouldn't call myself a religious person but it's scientifically proven that pork is the most harmful meat to our health among the ones consumed by humans.

The pig is not by nature a clean-living animal.
Pigs produce much higher levels of antibodies and growth hormone in its body than other animals and pork contain high levels of cholesterol and lipids.

In Islamic law, the prescribed method of ritual slaughter of all animals excluding camels, locusts, fish and most sea-life. This method of slaughtering animals consists of a swift, deep incision with a sharp knife on the neck, cutting the jugular veins and carotid arteries of both sides but leaving the spinal cord intact.

Obviously the main reason for prohibiting pork in Judaism and Islam is that it's considered naturally dirty.

Many people hardly think about how good or bad their food is as long as it's tasty.
Look at how fast food is popular around the world even though it's pretty bad.

Plus, if it's cooked enough, most of bacterias shall die.

Whatever, it's not that harmful if you don't eat too much pork imo... just like fast food.

I just don't understand how you can prohibit some food just because it's unhealthy as long as you are careful and don't eat it every day or something (talking in general, not about Muslim people and pork).

The common hamburger does not include pork. However, people do make variants that may include pork, but it is extremely uncommon. Your average backyard burger grilling event will most likely not include pork in the beef burger.

I feel bad about most mamals being slaughtered... except porks. I think I LOVE all mamals except porks actually, I hate those things. Probably because of my hate for humans who behave like porks

Can you eat chips that taste like ham but don't have ham?

Yes if it's halal

Some chips that tastes like ham are not made full of ham. It's only the flavourings.

Just because you don't believe in religion, it doesn't mean other people can't be religious.

Well I think some Muslims drink alcohol but don't eat pork is because alcohol is alcohol (and some of them is addicted to it when they try it the first time), but as for pork, there is always other meats, poultry or fish. And like some of the posters says above pork isn't that appealing.

So Hindus don't eat beef and pork?

Beef is not eaten by Hindus because cows are considered sacred animals in Hinduism.

And I don't think there is any custom about not eating pork. But still 99.9% Hindus avoid it. Till now I have met only 1 person (Hindu) who eats pork, that too very rarely.

No, why ??? Hindus eat chicken, mutton (goat), fish, prawns, etc. as non-veg. But there are some Hindus who are strictly vegetarians.
