Sheryl Crow's strong-enough quotient is being tested once again.

The Grammy winner and breast-cancer survivor has a common form of brain tumor called a meningioma, Crow's rep confirmed Tuesday to E! News.

But, happily, the tumor is benign—and Crow, 50, is the one who broke the news last night to an unsuspecting Las Vegas reporter, practically off the cuff.

"I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI. And I found out I have a brain tumor," Crow told Las Vegas Review-Journal columnist Doug Elfman.

"And I was, like, 'See? I knew there was something wrong,'" she continued with her usual humor. "I haven't really talked about it...But it's benign, so I don't have to worry about it. But it gives me a fit."

So she was being ironic when she flubbed lyrics to "Soak Up the Sun" onstage in February and joked to the Florida audience, "I'm 50, what can I say? My brain's gone to s--t."

Meanwhile, her rep filled us in on the nature of Crow's illness.

"Half of us are walking around with [meningioma] but you don't really know unless you happen to have an MRI," she said. "[Crow] has no symptoms and everything is fine. It was a random mention during the [Vegas] interview. It was not meant to alarm anyone. She is doing great and is healthy and happy."

And that does indeed make us happy, too.

I wish her a speedy and painless recovery. I'm glad she caught it early.

Not sure what her rep means by "half of us" are walking around with benign brain tumours!?

Saw the headline about half an hour ago, scared me to death. I love Sheryl Crow

Glad to hear it's not a serious problem though.

Everyone needs to calm down.

Meningiomas are quite common and according to the article, Sheryl Crow has a benign meningioma, so it's basically harmless. She has no symptoms whatsoever. She does not need any treatment as she is asymptomatic - I assume doctors will just monitor her every few years. She cannot "recover" from anything if there are no symptoms and nothing is being done.

Sheryl said she had noticeable memory loss which was the reason she went in for an MRI :awww:

I have a friend who had a huge benign brain tumor. He was totally mental for about 6 months until he finally was dragged to a doctor. It was the size of a grapefruit. Yet now, he is 100% fine.
