Tournament whore or not, she'll be top 250 Monday after tomorrow :bounce:

And she's the youngest player in the top 600 :worship:

When's the cutoff for Wimbledon qualies? I'd like her to be there.

Vekic looks to have a great future but I hope she takes her time. Getting to the top 100 at a young age doesn't provide a guarentee for future success. In fact most of the recent players who have reached the top 100 at young age have struggled. Oudin and Larcher de Brito for example. Hopefully Vekic's next three years will be spent improving her rackets skills and preparing her fitness so that when she does reach WTA level she is ready. Much better to do this than focus on getting her into the top 100 before she is ready.

Well, when you constantly win against top 300 players, you deserve to be in top 250. So whoring is not that bad, as she deserves to be where she is.
But breaking top 150 will be much harder then going from nothing to top 250 :P
Anyway, good tournament for Donna...another one :)

With her new total, Donna will have 238 points. She'll be only 60 points or so away from #200 and she's defending only 20 points in the next five months.

Breaking into the top 200 this year looks very realistic for her. The question is whether she'll be able to stay there once she has to start defending the bulk of her points.

winning 10k and 25k actually still don't mean much. Real deal are 50k and 75k because you can see players from the top100 right there. But keeping fingers crossed.

How it works? I remember that Urszula when she was younger than 18 played in more tournaments that she was allowed to play, but she just didn't earn points for some events.

Cause she and her team counted tournaments wrong, thinking that Wimbledon does not count for the AER. But it did, since she received a wild-card (direct entry would have not). So, she played Krakow ITF, but did not get any points for it.

Yes, I was thinking about this one. Thank you :)

I'm not suggesting she is at all, not that I see anything wrong in playing lots of events when you are old enough and fit enough to do it.

I just hope she takes her time breaking into the tour and and doesn't rush things. So far she is doing just fine.

How it works?

Between the date of a player’s 14th birthday and the day before her 15th birthday, a player may participate in 8 ITF tournaments + Fed Cup. No more than three can be 50k or above and only one (with wild-card, can`t be direct entry) can be WTA.

Between the date of a player’s 15th birthday and the day before her 16th birthday, a player may participate in 10 tournaments + WTA Championships + Fed Cup

Between the date of a player’s 16th birthday and the day before her 17th birthday, a player may participate in 12 tournaments + WTA Championships + Fed Cup

Between the date of a player’s 17th birthday and the day before her 18th birthday, a player may participate in 16 tournaments + WTA Championships + Fed Cup

Players aged 15-17 are allowed up to four merited increases. Depending their ranking, reaching junior slam finals etc.

Tournaments where player does not earn any ranking points (ex: losing in 25k qualies) don´t count toward AER.

Extremely talented youngster. Seen her at Wimbledon last year. Very likable character and talent to back it up. She has a very bright future ahead of her for sure.

Agree with you as this is just the beginning there is long way to go.

This is really promising. A 15 year old in the Top 250 is pretty good by today's standards. It is very interestng, I wonder how a 15 year old Capriati, a 15 year old Hingis or 15 year old Sharapova would have adjusted to this field.
