Both really have the same career. Many ups and downs and now they're down together. Will they ever back to their form again or their time is over?

I would not count them out but it is not looking good :-(...If I had to put money on it I would say JJ has the best shot of coming back to the top because she has had matches here and there where she showed her old form for a set or two but they are two few and far between.

I think Kuzy is the one that we should really be talking about. Her down fall has been big and she is a two time slam champ!!!

What happened to kuzzie great things were always predicted for her but it never materialised despite 2 slams.

I just love the way injury isn't even considered a factor by many! As if every player is over because of an injury setback, along with a bit of a slump, shit there would be a hell of a lot blank spaces in the pages of tennis history. Unbelievable thickness by some.

Jankovic is completely done as shown by the fact her trajectory has been steadily downwards for years now.

Zvonareva, as much crap as I've given her in the past, in fairness she was still doing quite well as recently as 6 months ago and has largely been derailed by injury. She's almost certainly past her peak, but she could have one or two more top 10-level seasons left in her.

For players who count on movements to win matches, it's tough when they get older.

Isn't Zvonareva's injury pretty nasty, and more than likely career-ending unless she has surgery?

Junkovic has been done since RG 2010.

It's just the starf of the end of old generation of players: Jankovic, Zvonareva, Kuznetsova, Schiavone... They're all at the end of career, they reached their peak and will never win a grand slam :p

players which started their careers after Venus/Serena/Kim and those 3 are still going.

I'd take number 1 and 1 GS final over 2 GS finals.

People can be blind, when it's of interest.. ;)

Well, nobody know what really going on with these two. Maybe, more than injuries and others things, I think the main factor is Motivation. Maybe they lost it..

I won't be surprised if we don't see this two, on courts, in the next year..

I wouldn't say Vera is completely done yet. She does have pretty bad injuries at the moment, so could potentially still have one or two more Top 10 seasons in her.

The rest seem done though. Jankovic is dropping like a stone and is to old to really recover her game. Schiavone is going to take an almighty plummet after the French. Her 2011 final points work out as almost half of her current total. She might even struggle to get a Wimbledon seed if she loses early and other results go against her. Kuznetsova isn't getting any younger, and frankly her results just seem to be getting worse and worse.

Zvonareva I think has passed her peak, she did well to get to those two finals and number 2 in the world but she will never get there again. Jankovic has reached her peak as well back in 2008, she may have 2 or 3 more inspired GS runs in her career but the elusive slam is gone. Kuznetsova I don't think has lived up to her full potential, she is just as talented as Maria and the same age, she should be competing in slam sf/f. Really a disappoint in my opinion.

It must be really hard for players who have achieved so much to lose R1 in virtually all their events these days. How do you get yourself motivated when you can't even get routine wins?

I'd take number 1 and 1 GS final over 2 GS finals.
